They work in a minimal kind of way
They work. The sound quality is not very good, very minimal highs and lows, but I don't really require that from my phone anyway: they allow me to hear the stuff that I want to hear from my Iphone 5s that I cannot hear from the headphone jack because it is disfunctional.
