A stellar philatelic value !
A superb product at surprisingly low cost, impressively packaged and delivered in 3 days. Amazing ! Encore ! As an 'ole geezer who was collecting stamps seriously some 60 years ago, and who now is preparing to pass on pounds of stamps, most pre-1960's, to a couple of young grandsons, I wanted a somewhat recent, authoritative guide to help enthuse and inform them of the myriad perspectives on geography and history available thru postage stamps. Viola ! Although a radical transition from my ancient Scott catalogs I unloaded decades ago, once I got into effective navigation of the catalog, I was amazed - I don't think it's too much to say 'excited' - by the beautiful color illustrations, extensive valuation features and expansive coverage of this catalog. Where my former Scotts were hard-bound, had b/w illustrations, and were laid-out a little more sequentially, and where *two volumes* encompassed the world, it is apparent that I will need to acquire additional volumes to provide all the info the boys will need. Too, due to the superb value, careful and timely shipment by PJC Collectibles, I'll begin my search there. Thanks, Amazon . . . now, if only *you* could as effectively and completely consolidate my confused 10+years of account data.

Updated and Corrected Essential Reference for Collectors
The latest in the Scott Catalogue series, with well-photographed examples in very accurate tones and colors of almost every stamp design of the USA, including the Confederate States, US Possessions, the UN, and FDCs, etc. A frightful cover price, considering that it is pretty much a straight-forward reprint with a few additions, but there is no better reference work, and unless you can track down a lightly-used discount copy, or a clearance item from yet another failed bookstore, this is the best price you can get. There are numerous annexes and definitions sheets for references and fact-checking, classifying and indexing, but these are little changed from prior years.Stamps are as late as June 2012 - impressive for a print date of November 2012. Now that stamps are thrown on the market for the most part only in mini-sheets and booklets, an annual purchase of Scott's perhaps isn't really all that vital, as most of the recent issues can be looked up on the internet - except for the dedicated collector, of course. Or if your 2012 copy is as torn, folded, mutilated and spindled as ia mine.

If you're going to "do" US stamps ...
and need a source for as much information as possible on the subject, this is the one to get. It has, in one book all the information you are likely find in one book. Some people don't like the pricing in it but there is honestly no way to really know the pricing on anything but it can only offer you a bit of a guideline to work from.

Absolute Requirement for anyone collecting US or territory stamps.
The Scott Specialized Catalogue of US Stamps & Covers is pure gold. No better resource exists for US stamps, and covers not only the stamp, but also special cancellations & colors that increase a pre-1900 used stamps value. A must have guide for US collectors.

An essential resource.
The only comprehensive catalog of US stamps. A great buy, and an essential reference for serious collectors. All the details for identifying US and US-related stamps are contained in this book, which is well-written and well-illustrated with the features that distinguish one stamp from another.

BUY ONE, BEST REFERENCE FOR US COLLECTORS
I am a collector of us and this is an exceptional reference volume that i have used for years. As you know, it plus other Scott volumes are issued annually and i am updating from the 2011 volume that i have.

Essential reading for any philatelist collecting USA.
A very interesting catalogue with plenty of explanatory text - but do bear in mind that the Scott listing of USA stamps is different to the way Stanley Gibbons lists USA stamps. Having said that, the Scott catalogue does include many stamps not included in the SG. catalogues - for example revenue stamps of which there have been many types produced by the USA.

Scott U.S.: A happy European surprise
In my European whereabouts we tend to use quite other catalogues than Scott. However, at least as concerns the U.S., the Scott provided s most happy surprise.

Indispensable
Indispensable pour tout collectionneur sérieux des USA, très complet, précis et facile d'utilisation. A recommander malgré un prix peu abordable.
