Great for small john boats and kayaks.
Does what I wanted. I have one of the mounts on the side of an ammo can with the batter for the fish finder inside and the fish finder itself mounted on top. I use a cleat on the side of the can to hold the transducer cable. I have another mount for the arm on the front of my john boat that I can move the arm to when using it. The arm is a little flimsy but it may be by design so it doesn't break of when it hits a stump. All in all it works well on small boats and is a must.

Get one if you're in the market
Overall this mount is awesome. The installation instruction weren't even needed. Find a good spot out of your way and mount.. simple. Very solid mount. The adjustability is as simple as turning a few wing nuts. I would like to see black small lines on the rubber washers that adjust the angle of the arm. For now I use a sharpie to make sure I'm level when I set my transducer.

Great solution for inflatables/small boats
I used this, paired with a Scotty inflatable accessory attachment, and it works well for my inflatable Intex Mariner 4. It allows me to quickly attach my Garmin Striker 4 portable to the boat and remove it when I'm done. I also like how the arm allows you to raise and lower the probe depending on if you're using it or not. Surprising it was very solid in the water and even on my inflatable had very little movement, even going 5mph in the water.

Good mount, but was missing hardware
The mount appears good, my only complaint was that it was missing Hardware. It was missing a 1/4" square nut. Luckily I was able to substitute a regular 1/4-20 nut. taking away a star for poor quality control. Not worth dealing with returning the unit to get a new one. EDIT: In the end it was also missing the plastic arm that connects to the transducer. I only noticed that once I went to install the transducer. I sent the unit back for a replacement.

Works like a charm
I got this for my jon boat. I mounted it on the front of the boat and was concerned with it being to flimsy with me running around the lake but it does really good with 2 electric trolling motors that equal about 60 pounds of thrust wide open. Dont know how it would do with a gas motor but I like how you can easily flip it up out of the water when I am river fishing and get up around some sticks and logs in the water. The only thing I wish that it had which I though I was going to need but didnt was an extension. I would have rather paid a few extra dollars to have had it included in the kit. Other than that great buy and cheaper here than the big box fishing mega store.

Scotty Quality, Perfect design
I like the locking base, which I had to skew slightly to get three screws into my gunwale/coming of my 12' Jon Boat. With the based skewed, I lock it about one notch from 'normal' and it lines up perfectly for my sensor. . I did have to drill the sensor mount hole up to 1/4 for my screw, but there was plenty of meal to retain strength. I am a long time fan of Scotty (I have the old manual down-riggers still) and find this up to the quality I expect.

So good I bought two
This is much better than sticking it through the scupper hole and risk dragging your transducer across gravel. For me, this actually sits low enough that I can use my side imaging sonar, instead of putting it inside the hole and only getting down imaging. It does cause a little bit of drag, but not enough to even deduct a star. I'm actually working on a little bit of a design to put something around it to make it a little bit more smooth and the current. I have a trolling motor on my kayak, so I don't worry about that too much anyway. I miss installed on a ocean big game prowler and a Vibe see ghost 1:30. One thing to mention is when you pull it out, don't forget to push the little button. Lol. The first time I went to remove it I was getting frustrated till my friend realized that there is a button. Holds it very firm, so I don't worry about losing it.
