Bought for my daughter before she was released, she still reads it and found it to be useful

It breaks my heart to leave a bad review. I really, REALLY wanted to read and love this book. It's a topic I need to better understand because of a relationship that exists in my life. However, it's so poorly written that I couldn't get past the first few pages. I was so distracted by grammatical errors, run-on sentences, improper punctuation, misused words, etc, that I couldn't focus. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I'd be glad to help the author coach/proofread/edit. Hopefully he will seek out assistance with his delivery/articulation/grammar/usage.I'll try again one day, but not today. 🙁

Trying to help someone I think the world of. This book is down to earth, up to date and very practical. The author is sharp and well informed. I would recommend this book for anyone who is incarcerated, and for those on the outside who want to participate in supporting a loved one. Kudos and thanks are in order.

Richard Bovan's book is very informative and very straight to the point. His rules on making strides for ex-imates on the outside seems not only relative to the former prisoner but also regular folk like me that have never been. Love this book!

Very good!

This is a must read for every parolee. It has such powerful suggestions and reminders that each parolee could use to help them from returning to prison. I bought this for my nephew to prepare him for his exit and he insisted I read it - he was right. Every person about to be paroled and family members should read this book. Thanks to the author.

Since this book is written by a formerly incarcerated man, it contains practical and useful feedback that can be utilized by those who are preparing for release from jail/prison. There are no scare tactics - just facts and a well rounded list of things to consider as one prepares to rejoin society. The book is not full of jargon and can be read by anyone. This is a recommended pre-release resource.

Another great book for those being released from prison and wanting to be accepted into society again! My son is very successful and happy! Thank you for writing this book!
