Great upgrade, east installation and worth the price.
Nice product. Packaged nicely. Seems like a good quality product. This LED is being used in a 6 D cell light that is about 15 maybe 20 years old.Easy installation took about 2 min or so. This LED is much brighter than the original bulb, and still retains all the functionality. Definitely a recommended upgrade for an old flashlight!

Over-priced but ultimately worthwhile.
It's a good way to upgrade and rejuvenate large D-cell Mag-Lite flashlights. They're now far brighter and much more useful than with the prior incandescent bulb. The price does seem to be about $5 USD too expensive, though.

Works great. Easy installation and a BRIGHT light!
I have 3 Maglite D cell flashlights from the late 1990s/early 2000s - 6D, 4D and 2D. We were cleaning out the barn attic and I found my old Maglites. These were state of the art in the day - solid aluminum, bright (pre-LED) and a good self-defense tool if needed. I was about to throw them out. They were collecting dust not being used because I have the newer/more powerful and brighter LED flashlights. It gets dark here out on the farm and a bright flashlight beam is a necessity at night. I saw by chance a YouTube video on upgrading these Maglites so I went on Amazon to see what was available. These LiteXpress LED upgrade replacement bulbs are not cheap, but they work great, are easy to install and provide a nice BRIGHT light. These LED replacement are competitive with my current single LED flashlights. Brought back to use from the 1990s with LED technology into the 2020s. The 6D and 4D Maglites require this 530 lumen replacement. The 2D Maglite needs a different part - use the 435 lumen. Voltage does matter.Simply unscrew the cap and take out the lens of the flashlight. It all unscrews with the cap, lens and an O-ring. Take out the reflector funnel. Unscrew the old incandescent bulb housing, then screw in the new LED housing. Replace the reflector funnel, lens, O-ring and cap and it's done. I replaced the old scratched lenses with new Welltool lenses in the process. Done.Great way to refurbish AND re-use these old classic but extremely well built Maglites. A great flashlight and club/tool as needed with the LEDs. The 6D will be used by the night stand. 4D will now be in my farm truck. The 2D is back where it belongs in the front closet.Highly recommended to repurpose your old Maglite flashlights. Just make sure you use the right LED replacement part based on the number of D sized batteries the old Maglite uses.

It's a yes from me, Dawg.
I found a used 4D Maglite for $2, and immediately threw in some D's, and it worked! Yas! That said, the incandescent bulb was not going to work for me: it's good, but this one is night and day better... delightful pun.Comparing it to a surefire G2x tactical (600 lumens), the surefire is very slightly brighter, with a lot more spill, but the maglite works more like a spot light with totally acceptable spill. The surefire fills the room with light, but the maglite will light up a tree at 100 meters (seriously...) whereas the surefire will not.And with the LED being better on batteries, lasting longer, and brighter: it's all wins.

Long lasting
Very bright and easy to install.

It turned on...
It was definitely brighter than the original bulb. With that being said, i expected it to be ALOT brighter than it is. With 4D batteries behind it, i figure that wouldnt have been a problem. But it works. Just dont expect to have instant daylight in your hands. Just a bright metal club.

Great purchase. Easy install.
Found an old maglite 4D at a thrift store. This led bulb is at least 2-3x brighter than the original. Great purchase. Easy install.

Doesn’t work
I wanted to upgrade my old MagLite 4 D cell flashlight. Ordered this LED replacement. The package was three days late.Additionally, when I opened the Amazon packaging (a plastic bag) I noticed that the product packaging had been opened already. When I installed the new bulb it would flash brightly for about a tenth of a second, then, nothing. By pushing the power button I could only get it to flash once per push as described above. With the old incandescent bulb installed it works just fine.I’m going to return it.
