I initially received a defective mat, with bubbles in the surface that eventually expanded to form creases in the direction the mat had been rolled in shipping.I tried to stick with it, hoping there was a simple fix, but there wasn't so I finally contacted the seller and got it replaced.The new mat is MUCH better. The surface is flawless and so far I haven't had any problems although I've kept it flat since I got it and haven't tried rolling it (I'm probably not going to either!). I like that it uses dry erase since many of the other mats available do not allow this and my group has been using a piece of plexiglass over a much smaller paper grid and dry erase is what we are used to (and I don't want any slip ups).I've used it for one game so far and am using it for another tomorrow night, I expect this one will stand the test of time.Pictures:#1 - New mat surface#2 - New mat from above#3 - Old Mat wrinkles

I purchased the mat to use for Dungeons and Dragons. Because you have the ability to draw your maps, its perfect for simple/fast map drawings and battlefield details. I love it!However!I dont think i stored it in the best possible way so after 2 years(ish) the map had like air bubble cracks in the surface making it really annoying to draw because the surface wasn't smooth anymore.I figured there was something i could do to repair the issue, so i contacted the support from melee mats and they ended replacing the initial shipment with no hassle!! This shipment came very fast and the support individual was very fast to respond to my emails and got me the replacement within 3 days! They also gave the correct details on storage!Bottom line,- take care of the product to make it last- contact their support if you have questions- it works great for dungeons and dragons!

A few wrinkles poped up after the first week and never went away. They xan be quite annoying to erase over. Also the markers and cleaner provided are pretty bad... But if you replace those with good stuff its fine.Over all I still think this is a good value. The grid is very nice and the dry erase feature is a game chager. The size is also great. It takes up most of the table so you will never have to worry about running out of space.4/5

Huge game mat, great for rpg adventures laying out the town, or dungeon or market or castle or whatever. Good for combat or simply adventuring around. 1” wide squares are perfect for my D&D miniatures. Received the product in perfect condition. Great value for the price point. If you can afford it, this larger mat is worth the extra money, as it’s so big, it can pretty much cover every need. Thank you!

Starting off, it's a thin material laminated on front. The back is semi non slip. It's thinner than poster board. At first I was a little upset, I was thinking it would be like my last one that was a foam material. But, I have changed my stance on it after 5 sessions.This is pretty freaking great! I tried to find something negative, but it's useless. This mat is on point. It's huge. I could trim it into 4 smaller mats and still be happy. The backing is amazing for the durability and flexibility. I thought to myself at first I could make something better and cheaper. I looked into it at the office supply store, and it would have run me closer to $70. And it would have been posted paper backed with a laminate at 5mm. This thing is thinner and heeler l heavier duty then I expected. The mat was clear and well printed. For the price,I can't believe the quality.
