They were burr free, great quality and fit. Mesh is great. Only poor ones are the motor and accompanying gears are a pot metal and not drilled for grub screw. Be sure to tighten the cap screws on the motor gear if you use it or it will come apart. Bore is tight and needs some massaging if you want a slip fit. Worth the price.

Had to open the bores up a little with emory cloth on a dowel with a drill, but the bores are the right size. The keys on my machine are 3mm I believe, and these are 4 or 5 mm wide, so they are a little sloppy. But as long as you aren't changing directions while cutting, they work just fine. Finish was good, and the tooth count is engraved in each gear. The original gears also have an integrated spacer on one side of the gears, which these do not have, but you can get by without them, or you can make some spacers to take up the difference.

I read all the quality control grips about the gear bores, gear teeth mesh and such. There was no other place to get the replacement gearing unless, you wanted to pay more than the mini lathe cost. So I bought the set, expecting to file teeth and lap bores. NOPE, every gear I use was dang near perfect. One of the #80 gears had a sloppy fit but, the other #80 bore I received was spot-on. My lathe now runs a tad quieter. The packing was OK because, the manufacture packed the gears tightly in a HD plastic bag, and shipped it in a cardboard box nicely sized for the gears. I would have cleaned them before I used them anyway but, there were little pieces of crud in the bag, with the gears. It was like the bag had not been closed yet, it was Friday afternoon, and they blew the packing table off with compressed air, just to get out of Dodge!

These gears are extremely noisy and seem to cause more heat to build up during use. I wouldn't buy again.

such an improvement had a issue with the gear that goes to the motor put the old one back on now I am turning Stainless steel very much worth the upgrade you do how ever need to use a very think greese any place the gears touch to cut down on heat other then that a very good product

Some gears have flashing still on the teeth but most are decent. The boreholes are all slightly too small and have needed to be bored out to fit on the rotating shafts/spindle. The shift gear that moves inside the head to switch between high and low has a gap that’s too narrow to fit the fork which pushes the gear back and forth, necessitating even more hand fitting. They are very loud when running.

Product was as described, on time, and even included two extra belts.

This review is for the 27pcs lathe gear set. First off I did not expect anything less then the hassle free installation of a higher quality gear set after reading the description. After opening the box I found a bag of gears dinged up from almost no packing effort just tossed in a bag and then a box. The kit did not come with the belts as stated in the description. All gear's needed deburring, keyway's filed to fit. The main spindle gears ID honed to size. In all the work I had to do and less the parts I PAID FOR!!!!. The price is to high for this product.
