Braid Craft Starter Kit

This is a great kit that comes with all of the tools you need to start braiding EXCEPT for the fabric. now even in the description it states it comes with tools and instructions but no where does it say it comes with the fabric you would need to braid with - however many of the reviewers here seem to think it does. Again it does NOT include the fabric. The reason for that is simple - every braider will have his/her different fabric to use. You can cut strips from clothing, bolts of fabric etc it does not matter. You can alternate colors patterns etc. You will not ever find a full carpet braiding kit complete with fabric for less than 75$. In fact I purchased a 1960s kit on Etsy for carpet braiding and it came with everything including fabric for $105.50 plus shipping so the fact that you are getting the instructions and tools here for less than $20 bucks is amazing! This is a great place to start and after you read the booklet you will have a better idea of what fabric to use.I paid: 19.68 with free shippingValue: I have not found a store or place where i can buy the braiding tools so having it come in a kit with all the tools I would need is amazing. Overall I would easily expect to pay $35 on up for this. If you are lucky enough to find a braiding kit WITH fabric you can expect to spend over 4100 for a single carpet. In my opinion you are better off buying this tool kit and gathering the fabric yourself since you can strip old clothing, blankets, sheets without having to spend any money buying cloth to braid with. If you do want to buy cloth consider starting with Fabric strips. You can find them sold on Amazon for quilting but walmart will often sell them in a roll. Fabric strip rolls are often called "Jelly rolls"

Just got my kit in the mail. I started my first rug the other day and decided I wanted braiding cones. They work well, and I can see how the braiding will go much faster. Because I already had my project started, I had to wait until I was ready to attach new strips and threading the cones onto those before sewing them on. If you’re using thicker fabrics, it can be a little difficult to get them over the joined seams. I also wouldn’t use strips any shorter than 1.5”. The cord seems a bit thick, so I won’t be using it this time. The lacing tool is ok. I’m not sure if I prefer it or the large tapestry needle I was using. The clamp is for holding your braid when you need to set your project down. It is like a clothespin, only much more sturdy. In all, i would recommend as solid beginner kit.

I have a friend who has this product and we are having a program showing a group of fiber artists how this technique works. I looked all over for the supplies, to no avail, and then started my search on the internet. Great place to find out-of-print and out-of-production items. Directions are hard to follow

The instruction book was great with good directions. I needed a different clamp and could not view the item before purchase. The clamp was not what I expected.

When the name of this item says Kit, I expect just that. A kit. I didn't receive anything but a little 14 page booklet with instructions. I now have to pay probably just as much to get the little fabric folders and the lacer. As far as the clip goes, I have plenty of clothes pins. I am very disappointed with this product and I'm going to be way more careful next time. It would be nice if the seller of this product would drop the rest of my "kit" in the mail.

a continuation of a new hobby in our household, and this made a good staryer kit for rag rugs.

I liked the start "kit" and appreciate the simplicity of it. Would have appreciated more pictures of projects.
