You Can't Play Here! (Picture Kelpies)

I'm a novice bagpiper and a mom who likes to collect fun bagpipe related things. My daughter and I love books and sometimes she'll complain about my practicing, even if I'm on the other side of the house with the door closed (and she has noise canceling headphones too). I pull this full story out and read it out loud (she's 5 now) every time she starts to complain too much. Suddenly she encourages me to practice more and won't complain for awhile. Lol! I love the illustrations in this book too.

Really cute story with great illustrations. Better for older kiddos around age 4-5 (this was a gift to my 2 year old niece, so we'll have to wait a few more years before she really understands it).

My sons love this book. Their dad plays bagpipes and they love their Scottish heritage!!

My son LOVES this book.

This is a lovely story about a boy who only wants to play the bagpipes. He has not much encouragement from family and friends. It all works out in the end. The children I work with loved this story and it is a good book to add to our Scottish collection of stories. The graphics and the text were bright and colourful and simple for the children to follow.

used this at a story telling session; then played a few tunes on the pipes - kids loved it!
