I liked everything about this book. It has paper cover, so it is light to carry in the handbag. The plot of the story is extraordinary, really would recommend to read. It is lie watching a good movie,k your mind just sticks to the story.

Great book, fascinating life story and written very well. It had a little bit of everything, adventure, ambition, travel, risk taking, sad times, happy times, poverty, prosperity. It's become my go to book to loan to people looking for an interesting read, i can't recommend it highly enough.

What an exceptional woman Waris Dirie is. Unforgettable narration, memories and future hopes.

What a fantastic book. Waris relates her life with brutal honesty and great insight. I've been left with a much clearer picture of both sides of child marriage and FGM, and it is impossible not to empathise with her greatly throughout. A book I will read and re read and have bought other copies for friends.

A book that everyone should read. A wonderful true story, but highlighting the horrors of genital mutilation and it's effect on women's lives.
