Ken Onion Kraken Stainless Steel Shellfish Knife

This tool alone has increased my Shellfish intake by about 30% due to its ease of use and effectivness. Quality constructed and cool looking to boot!

Loved this little shellfish knife. I use it to devein shrimp and it is perfect. Sharp so it slices cleanly thru the shell and butterflies shrimp all at once.

As some one who has several ken onion kitchen knives, i am disappointed that they seem to have lied about his involvement. The knives are ok, not up to ken onion design quality. They obviously copied his handle design. all in all the knives are worth the price, just stop using kens name!

Not an Ken Onion, Cheap knock off!!!!

This 'Kraken' knife (and its sister design the 'Brew-Shucker') are of excellent design, and solidly put together, using thick steel and quality thermoplastic grips. However, it is a machine-made, mass-produced knife (not a hand-crafted one), and it has some rough edges - quite literally. The grip area is well-polished, but there are sharp edges on the finger guard and all along the exposed metal - in some places these are sharper than the cutting edges! It would be a very good idea to file these areas down before using the knife on slippery seafood.PLEASE NOTE: This knife is NOT a Ken Onion design. This 'Kraken' knife (and the 'Brew-Shucker') were designed by custom knifemaker Quintin Middleton [MiddletonMadeKnives-dot-com] and commercially manufactured. There may be some confusion as these knives are also marketed through a website licensed by Ken Onion and bearing his name. I hope this info will help clear things up.

The tool is nicely constructed; but with all of the talk of 420 stainless steel; its dishwasher-safe status; and its ergonomic handle, what-have-you, it would have been nice to mention that the handle is more suitable for a large toddler than that of an adult . . .
