Mexene Original Chili Powder Seasoning 3oz Bottle (Pack of 3)

Visited the older of my two sisters a few weeks ago while she was cooking some sauce for dinner, and i sensed a smell in the air that took me back 65 years to my mother's kitchen when I was just a child. I asked my sister what it was that I smelled and she took a container of Mexene Chili Powder seasoning out of the cabinet. I said, "WOW, that's the stuff Mama used when we were children". Sister told me that it was available on Amazon so I ordered a 3-pack and gave one each to my two sisters. It is absolutely amazing how a smell in the air can take one so far back into wonderful memories of childhood. Not only are the memories so good, but also the Mexene! It renders a FANTASTIC flavor, not only in chili & other Southwestern & Mexican dishes, but it is also GREAT in a plain homemade marinara for spaghetti! Give it a try, feel sure that you'll agree!

Good stuff

I was getting worried because I looked every where for this chili powder. No one has it any more. I searched here finally , not sure why I didn’t look here first I always do . Lol. It has such a great flavor but no heat and I love it. Best chili powder around I really hope they do not stop making

This chili powder has been around since 1906. My mother, grandmother, and great grandmother all used it in their chili and I would use no other chili powder in mine. I love the distinctive taste. Mexene's website claims that it "has been used in every winning recipe in the last decade at the World Championship Chili Cookoff in Terlingua, Texas".It's sometimes hard to find locally but it's well worth the effort. Highly recommended!

A must have in Chili

I bought in bulk ,not always locally available . I add it to chili flavored dishes; either to mellow the heat or I add heat to its richer flavor. IT IS A STAP\LE FOR ME.

I have loved Mexene chili powder since I was a kid. It’s the only kind I will use. I bought another brand because the stores were out of Mexene and it ruined my recipe. The order arrived on time and was packaged just fine.
