It makes the leather sole of my used cowboy boots look good and will waterproof.
It is a bit pricey, but wanted to make my boots looking good. It is just one of several products I purchased to make my boots look almost new. I applied it several times, the worn leather soles drank it up. I applied it three times and let each application dry before the next coat.

This stuff is great for leather soles
This stuff is great for leather soles! It really conditions and protects them. It is not slippery. If you have already broken in your shoes, then they will absorb quite a lot and it will take several applications. It is best to put it on new shoes where less is needed and it gives the sole a nice rich patina. After, the soles don't get soaked when it is wet and don't pick up so much dirt and grit.

Close the lid
It doesn't have a way when if you leave it open, will prevent half of the liquid to fall off... I was careful, but I guess you need to be extra, extra careful!!! The product is great, just like anything from Saphir, but I wish they put a safer way to keep the liquid in the bottle...

Restored two 50 year old leather insoles
Before treatment, both pair of shoes sat in my closet for years and the footbeds, even though they have been broken in and conformed to the contours of my feet, were very hard and dry,. I did not have the heart to get rid of them. After several application, each with proper drying times, both pair of shoes became softer and comfortable to wear The first pair are early 1970’s US Army oxfords. The second are all leather 1970’s Mason Chelsea shoes that were bought from my uncle, a sales attendant at the Mason Shoes store, in Chippewa Falls, WI, which is the original home of the company. I have not used other competitor products for comparison, but I can vouch for Saphir Sole Guard to restore the life of leather footbeds. Some online instructions said to use the product sparingly which I did several time, otherwise one only need to use it at most twice a year. Although expensive, it is worth it and it extends the life of leather shoes. Today’s disposal culture has lost how truly leather shoes can be so comfortable.

Sole Guard and Protector
Saphir has been in this business for a long time and the quality of their products almost insures that they will be in the business for at least the foreseeable future. I apply to all of my new Allen Edmond shoes and then I re-apply about once every three (3) to six (6) months to protect the soles of my shoes.Extends the life of the sole.Highly recommended.
