Gotta be honest, I didn't expect it to work so well. Its simple and that's the beauty in it. I read reviews before I bought it and the people who had problems mentioned setting the offset. You do not need to set and off set. you set the RX radio up on the the channel that would be the offset, but with no offset. Set the VOX to 10.T hen the TX radio on the standard channel and it works. Say you were using it for GMRS, You would set the RX radio to 467.575 and the TX radio to 462.575. Then you use it as a regular repeater with your hand held set to 462.575 with a + 5.0 offset. If you want to use tones, use them the same way.

Does not work. Directions are horrible. Support is non existent. YouTube videos are helpful but still not enough to create a temporary "reliable" repeater.Maybe for a very experienced ham radio person to tinker with to perfect.My sugestion.... If you need a repeater then spend the money on a Repeater not a temporary unreliable solution.

Beware of Tx/Rx labels that may be put on upside down/backward! This will result in you connecting the radios backward. I The box started working once I deduced the problem. Vox needs to set on the Transmitting radio for it to work. Also, be sure that no offset is set on the radios. You will know its all working by turning the receiving radio off and on. The "Channel Mode" or "Frequency Mode" announcements will be transmitted to any radio properly programmed to the repeater channel. You can also use the receivers announcement to set your desired volume levels.Mum

Received the product, configured two of my radios and connected the adapter. After testing some configurations got it working. Works better foe uhf with the offset being much greater between receive and xmit. Be sure the handsets are as far apart as possible, and not near any equipment that can cause rf interference. Mine was next to an electronic safe that was enough to not let the adapter work correctly. After I got it working, I hiked down about 1000 feet away with a turn in the road and buildings providing physical obstacles and works 100%.

As reported by another reviewer a few days ago, I found that when either radio transmitted, 90% of the time it started a feedback loop that kept the repeater open until I shut off one of the radios. This was true even if using TSQL, regardless of RX volume level, and separating the radios by several feet and aligning them to minimize coupling of the TX antenna to the connecting cable or other radio. Tried several radios w/ same problem, even at 1/2 Watt. With no tech support, I had to return as defective.

This repeater controller is about as simple as it comes. Dial your radios up to the chosen frequencies and the plug the controller in. It tells you which side is "transmit" and which side is "receive". It's worked well and I am pleased with this purchase.

No documentation at all.
