Love it. Glad I took a chance.
I absolutely love this filament. I'm making some book-ends of a symbol from the Mistborn trilogy, and wanted to make them out of wood filament to give them a "richer" look and have them match my bookshelf. I shopped around and all the usual suspects (colorfabb, MG, hatchbox, etc.) were all out of stock everywhere, so I backordered some of them and then took a shot and ordered this one. Boy am I glad I did.I've included a bunch of photos. One of the printing, two fresh off the printer, two of them sanded, a few stained, some stained with poly, some side by sides, etc. In one of the flat prints, there was some under-extrusion, which actually seems to have made a cool wood-grain type pattern in it.I used the wood.py python script with Cura to slice this in a way that modulated the temp range (200-230) to give some 'banding' to simulate wood grain. That said, with the underextrusion, I think the recommended print settings were a bit low, and I bumped it up a few degrees to 210-240. This seems to have resulted in a much more consistent print--but my all-metal hotend, printing with a .8mm nozzle, tends to need to run a bit warmer than recommended, so your mileage may vary. The filament printed a little bit stringy, but I think that's expected with this sort of thing. It sanded well, and took stain MUCH better than I expected. I used a gel stain, and originally left it on for longer than recommended, but after trying some wiping it off after 3 minutes (recommended), I think that's more than enough. I actually want to go pick up a lighter stain to see if I can bring out some the banding a bit better.tl;dr, it prints well, first layer adhesion is almost too good, it sands well, it takes stain well, and it works with the python script for banding in the print. I'll probably cancel my backorder for hatchbox and order another spool of this stuff. I'm SUPER pleased.

This is fantastic stuff with the right settings.
I read about the difficulties other people had, so before my first print I did the following: temp=215 C, bed=45 C, flow=110%, speed=50%. My nozzle is .04. My tube is Capricorn. My printer is Ender 3 Pro. The picture below shows what resulted: the best, most beautiful print I have ever generated. Thank you, Priline!

The real deal
Turn the temperature up! I printed this at 220 c on my Ender 3 Pro at .2 layer height. The secret was high temp and slow printing. I tried varying the temp for different color shades but it didn’t work. Found that by varying the speed by 10-15 percent every so many layers, you could differentiate and get different “grain”. Finished with minwax stain and a hand rubbed boiled linseed oil finish after some light sanding. I’m hooked.

You'll need a bigger nozzle
I had done some research and asking around about wood PLA so I could print a Groot for a birthday gift. I tested this out on some smaller pieces and had a lot of issues with clogging. I watched some YouTube videos and ended up using a 0.6mm nozzle instead of the 0.4 that I had been using and no issues with clogging. Depending on the model, there may be a lot of stringing, but the large Groot sitting next to a tree trunk printed with almost no strings, and just a few zits (0.3mm layer height). I had to reduce the tempt to 185-190, I usually use around 205. This stuff will not stick to glass I found, and had to do the blue painters tape trick, which sticks too well, but it did the trick. Glue stick on glass works well with this too. Overall I'm pleased, but would have been a little more happy if I could have used it as a direct replacement for my normal Hatchbox PLA.

My Favorite Filament I Have Purchased So Far!
I am blown away by the quality of this filament. This has quickly become my new favorite to print with. The wooden color and texture ad such a nice look and feel to my prints. The attached photos are of some test print articulated slugs I did on my XYZ Da Vinci Jr. Pro 1.0. And are truly some of the best prints i have gotten out of the printer. The third image shows the differences between printing at 3, 1.5, and .5 layer heights. All other images are of the .5 layer height print with the light wood color. I can’t wait to try out some of the other wood colors offered and see my results!
