This is a great, great fan. It has been a very hot summer, and I got this, based largely on the reviews, because I did not want to use a loud, cold window air conditioner. I live in a small apartment - 365 square feet - and this high velocity fan is proving to be a fantastic substitute for AC. It is not too noisy, especially on the lowest setting, which is still quite powerful. If it lasts, it will be one of the best purchases I have ever made. Highly recommended.

Got the fan to help deal with the heat in a 1 bedroom apartment and it works great. You can direct the air upwards pretty high so even on my tall bed or computer chair I can get a nice breeze.It's lowest setting is more powerful than the highest setting on some other fans I've owned and is also pretty quiet on the lowest setting. The highest setting is very refreshing and very powerful,even from a distance, while not being too loud to sleep next to.Only complaint is it makes the air pretty dry, but all that's needed to remedy that is a small humidifier.
