I've always loved natural gemstones and amber is probably my favorite. There are so many colors of amber and each shade is as beautiful as the next. It's especially cool when, every once in a while, you find an insect or small leaf or something inside of a piece. (although I wouldn't expect that in these bottles) These little bottles are so pretty. They are about 2 1/2 inches tall and maybe an inch in diameter and filled to the top with a handful of amber pieces varying from pale yellow to deep maroon and almost black. They come in a really cute wooden box, nestled in a bed of cardboard curls and make a really nice first impression. The bottles are nice and thick, the corks are solid and don't break when you are removing them and there are many more pieces of amber than I expected based on the description of the bottle size. These would be beautiful to use in jewelry making but I actually like them just as they are, displayed in their box. I keep mine on a little ledge in front of a window and the amber is gorgeous when the sun shines through it.I received this CONTANGO Baltic Amber for free or at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion. They definitely are a cute affordable gift. I wish you could open the jars and touch the amber but you cant. they look nice and I like the box they come in, so they make more of a gift
