The product came as described. The top lock nut comes with the shocks. In my case I can see that these shocks are softer than the OEM parts but definitely improved the ride of the shot one.

Don’t waste your money!!
Installed shocks on 2008 Honda Civic DX-GMade the car very rough, could feel every little bump.I have replaced them with Monroe.KYB are junk !!!!!
