The Stone - A Button To Find Your Phone, Text Eta, Emergency Call and Control Your Camera - Cascade

I had higher hopes for this button. I also have the flic button and was hoping this button would be better, but it is not. Unlike the flic, this button only has two options-single and long press. It's hard to tell when you're doing one and not the other. There is a quick series of light flashes after presses, but I'm still unsure what they mean. They could be responses to the length of time the stone is pressed or toggling a notification. The plastic of the stone feels thin and brittle, but has held up so far. I find myself having to press it multiple times, and sometimes go into the app itself, to get it to respond the way I want it to. It's much more cumbersome than to just do the action myself. I like the form factor, and the idea of this, but cannot recommend it unless both its app and hardware are updated. It needs better feedback for completed actions and more reliability so that I can just press the button and expect it to work instead of opening the app and having to verify that it did.

I broke apart, and the Stone was to often inresponsive.I had to return it, sadly, because I really liked the idea of a seamless and easy to use "quick button"

Works like 80% of the time. I have it turning on, via ifttt, some lights connected to belkin wemo insight switches. Maybe 20% of the time I hit the button, wait like a couple minutes, and nothing happens. Then I hit the button again, and the lights go on immediately. The rest of the time the lights come on within a couple seconds.

Doesn't really work...

I'm a big gadget and gizmo fan, especially if the gadgets actually do something useful rather than just be cool. The Stone Smart button is pretty impressive. At first it seemed very simple - in fact the first thing I set it up to do is to just use it as a shutter control for the camera on my phone. One of the buttons still does that because it's useful to be able ot set up my phone on a tripod when I'm photographing something and just keep shooting photos as I arrange and rearrange what's in the frame without having to ever touch the camera. Perfect for when I've got ir precariously balanced at just the right agnel on a tripod and don't want to risk moving it. The other button I'm still playing around with my options on. What I'll most likely settle on is using it to control my Nest thermostat, so I can set it to away as I walk out the door, or set it to turn on and start cooling the house again when I start heading home so I don't walk into a hot house after being gone all day.I did receive this item at no cost for the purposes of testing and review. I think the smart button is a decent product. It is basically a little pebble type object with a button on it. After downloading the program onto your phone you can push the button if your phone is lost and your phone will beep so that you can find it. This did work for me but only when I was withing 10-15 feet of my phone. I had to walk around the house to "find" my phone because of this and this is why I gave the smart button for your phone a 4 star. Other than that this was pretty good and it did help me find my phone quicker than I would have without the smart stone programmed. I did receive this at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

What an awesome device this is. It is so easy to quickly send a message or make a call to somebody. I also love how easily I can access my phone's music using this smart button. Plus, I use it for selfies, so I don't have to try to touch the phone to get the shutter to go off. It's also helpful to monitor the temperature to make sure it doesn't get overheated. It's small and easily goes with me. I also love that I can use it to find my phone if need be.I received a discount to try this out and write a review based on using it.

It's super laggy. Most times I have to press twice for an action to happen. Also unfortunately there aren't many use cases out there yet.
