Bought (along with volume 2) for a just turned 10 year old for Christmas and he likes it, apparently, and not traumatised by it, which I was slightly worried about. I have not read it myself but Neil Gaiman is an excellent writer which is why I bought the book for my young friend who is interested in graphic novels. Seems like it is suitable for a younger reader but it might depend on how sensitive they are.

Unusual, but good.
This is rather fun I do have to say. Neil Gaiman's Graveyard book is right at the top of my favourites list anyway and to have it all fully - and imaginatively - illustrated is a bit special!
