a unique and wonderful picture book for children from 4-14 years
This unique picture book is an imaginative story about a mystical evening where frogs fly on lily pads. My 4 year old nephew was so engaged and enjoyed listening to me tell the story based on the pictures, and even wanted me to read it again! He was engaged in questions such as 'how do you think he feels?', 'what do you think will happen next?', 'do you think the people believe him?' (when detectives, press and public search the lily pads for clues of what happened the next day by asking the man that saw them flying on lily pads). This book has been just as engaging for children as old as 14 years of age too. Being a picture book, you can read it to a child, or get them to tell you the story in their own words, or simply take turns! As a speech and language therapist, I would recommend this book for schools, other professionals and parents. It is a great resource to encourage joint interest, vocabulary, sequenced language, making inferences and engaging in discussion. The low pressure nature of a picture book allows children of all abilities to join in and feel successful.

A simply sublime illustrated story.
A beautifully illustrated story that needs no words to tell its tale. This wonderful book for children (and adults alike) can be a delight to look at with younger children, or for them to explore on their own. Older readers can marvel at the detailed illustrations, and follow the journey of the frog characters too. This could well become a classic.

What a hit!
I bought this for my 5year old on the recommendation of a teacher-friend. I was a little wary at first as I wondered whether 'reading' a book with virtually no words in it would have limited appeal but I couldn't have been more wrong. The story really comes to life through yours and your child's interpretation of its illustrations. I am absolutely amazed at how much enjoyment this book has given my daughter based solely on her interpretation of the engaging illustrations of the adventures of the frogs on their 'magic flying lily pads.' It is such a delight to see her rock with laughter as she tells me the frogs have tied table cloths round their necks so they can pretend to be 'super heros' and that the frog with his hands out-stretched wearing a devilish grin on his face is about to push the birds off the telephone wires.I am truly impressed. I think this is a wonderful book, absolutely fantastic for developing young imaginations, helping children to make interpretations about what they see and for developing a good eye for detail. I am now searching Amazon for similar books.

Super little book
Super little book. I bought this to add to my growing collection of books to use in the classroom (I'm a teacher). I love this book for its illustrations - as there's not really much in the way of actual prose. It's got so much to talk about and all the children I've read it with have absolutely loved it.

Fun story with some lovely illustration
Bought this for my Mum as the teacher she works with had been showing it as a video to the children at school as part of their lesson scheme. She was tickled pink with it and took it straight to school with her so they could also see the proper print version. Fun story with some lovely illustration.
