I have only used this a couple times but it seems to work pretty good. It does get all those tangles out ...
I was originally looking for the Les Poochs Matt Zapper but was unable to find one in stock anywhere.. and didn't want to buy directly from them. This was the "orginal" or knock off or whatever you call it from the LP Zapper. I have only used this a couple times but it seems to work pretty good. It does get all those tangles out which saves time and stress on dog. I haven't used it on severe matts that are big and close to skin yet but will be updating that soon.In conclusion: Works good and will save you time with the de-matting rakes, tools and conditioners .. Worth the price?? Maybe. Depends how passionate you are as a groomer. I am the kind of groomer that wants to get in and out the door ASAP. Would recommend to Pet Parents whose dogs tangle a lot.. Just use carefully and correctly. Especially those parents who hate getting their dogs shaved at groomers cause they're always matted. This will help avoid that. (if you brush the entire dog including ears, face and tail)

Worth It
This is my go-to brush for dematting ears and tails when the only alternative would be to shave them. Depending on your patience, this brush can work through every mat every time. I use it on multiple dogs every day for work, and it lasted a good three years before I felt like replacing it. This is especially good for dogs who hate the usual dematter and has saved me from getting bitten by at least a dozen schnauzers with matted legs and skirts. Doesn't last as long as Les Pooches, but works just as well and is less expensive.

Good Quality
This brush works very well with my Shetland Sheepdog. I use it with Quicker Slicker to work on his undercoat. My dog smells much better and his skin is in better shape. I've noticed less dander and less undercoat coming out with each use. This brush is very firm. I purchased a similar, less expensive brush, but it is too flexible to work my dog's undercoat.

Really does the job.
My dog hated to be groomed. She has long hair and a double coat. We live in Florida. She sheds constantly and the mats in her tail were impossible to get out. I washed a pro grooming video and got some detangler spray and this brush...Sasha is mat- less for once in her life! She actually seemed to like being groomed and is much more relaxed. I would give it 5 stars but the brush seems expensive for what it is. Very similar to my everyday brush for her but just longer tines.

I wish my dog didn't eat it before I got to try it
I will say this... the plastic on the handle can definitely be easily eaten by a golden retriever. (Sigh). I never actually got to use this brush in it's entirety. Mine had to be taped up and some of the bristles were bent before I ever got to try it. Even with that, I was still pretty impressed by it's effectiveness. (I'm a professional groomer).

Worth the money!
My poor pup was quite matted. I researched and this brush consistently came up as the best. I figured the price was less than one visit to the groomer, so I'd give it a try. It took me a little bit to get used to used it. The bristles are sharp and I didn't want to hurt my pup. I was on the verge of doing a close cut rather than tackle the mats. So glad I tried this brush. Problem solved very quickly and my dog didn't mind the process in the tiniest. I highly recommend!!

Read the directions
If you read the directions and follow them, this is a GREAT product. I have Morkie that gets matted hair around her legs. This brush removed the matting very easily. Use a soft tap and pull motion and don't rip through the hair, just as the directions say.

OK for me
I have two mini doodles; bernedoodle - wiry curly hair and australian labradoodle - soft, wavy hair. The BD gets mats at her skin and hates the Safari comb. I've tried many products and she hated them all. I was forced to keep her hair shorter. I tried to order the Les Pooches but the order was never shipped - something about moving etc.., but customer service there sucks. Someone recommended the purple activet brush for both dogs. That one does a great job on the ALD (although he hates getting burshed) and a pretty good job on the BD and allowed me to keep her hair longer. Her mats are so ridiculous, they did return, so I bought this brush too. It's doing a good job with the mats and she tolerates it. I don't know if these are worth the price, but they are working for us.
