Brilliant Introduction to Shakespeare for Kids
I am a huge Shakespeare fan and wanted to introduce my Son at a young age without him losing interest. Hes four years old and this is the perfect book to do just that, not only is the book itself beautiful on the outside and inside with gorgeous illustrations but the stories are shortened perfectly for little ears and just the right length for a bed time story that keeps them engaged and interested. As there are so many stories you can read it again and again, every night and really make it last making it great value for money. A brilliant introduction for little ones to Shakespear.

Not ideal for under 10 years as described
Bought for daughter but had to return. The Writer did their best to break it down for kids(hence, the 2 stars) but I wouldn’t recommend for under 10yrs, enough sexual/violence content going on around already, I wouldn’t add this to it. The Romeo&Juliet had a sexual vibe to it still… Another story was too violent for young minds(my opinion) Let’s protect their innocent & pure heart as much as we can.Might come back when my daughter turns 12 or is matured enough for this.

A good simple grounding in Shakespeare's stories.
My 7-year old objected to the fact that some illustrations are on the wrong page of text, but the pictures are wonderful. The stories omit some of the more minor characters, but I found them easier to use for young children than the famous Charles and Mary Lamb versions.

A beautiful book of genius
A really wonderful book, cleverly distilled versions of Shakespeare’s most famous masterpieces that are accessible to children but also to adults to remind them of plays long ago studied at school or as gentle introductions to the bard’s other plays. Beautifully illustrated as well, all adding up to a wonderful gift.

.
I bought it for myself (an adult) as I have never read any Shakespeare; at school we did not cover him, and I don't like reading early modern English. This book is ideal to find out the main plots of each story.
