Très bon livre.

Ho letto ed amato la serie di romanzi con protagonista Myron Bolitar, al punto da rileggerla dopo alcuni anni. Purtroppo, qui non siamo ai livelli dei primi romanzi ed ho trovato il protagonista poco credibile. Ora devo iniziare The Match, il sequel di questo romanzo, ma non ho grandi aspettative. Quattro stelle solo per...affetto verso quello che, anni fa, era uno dei miei autori preferiti.

First of all the title says 'The boy from the woods' but the story is not about him, it's rather about two kids going missing and our main character Wilde, who is the boy from the woods gets recruited to find them out.I have not heard many great things about the book but I picked up for a thriller reading challenge since the book made it to the top 10 list of goodreads choice awards. I was really apprehensive about picking this up and I knew I would end up not liking it. But I was surprised when I finished it.There's a lot of political drama, romance and stupid wisecracks but still there's something about the characters and how their lives and emotions felt so real.....it made me love the book. In a nutshell it's a guilty pleasure read for me. In the beginning I absolutely hated the Maynards and Rusty and throughout the entire story it was obvious that they are the powerful exploiters and are supposed to be hated. But in the end when pieces started falling into place, it made me think....the differentiation between right and wrong, certain tough decisions to be made....everything....I fell in love with the writing.
