The Winter Agent

I absolutely loved this book. Tense, thrilling and taut, I couldn't put this book down and just had to keep reading it into the early hours. The fact that it is based on actual events leading up to D Day, just made it all the more enthralling. Well worth five stars all day long. If you haven't read Gareth's first novel Liberation Square, I can thoroughly recommend it.

Better than the average spy book but very irritating using metric measures for British personnel

I loved the pace, realism, urgency and period atmoshere. Took me a week to finish it - so quick for me as usually take two.

A lot of research must have gone into to make this story so riveting.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Pacey and extremely well written. For anyone who enjoys spy and/or WW2 fiction. As someone who used to live in Paris I found the scenes of the occupied city and its inhabitants very evocative; it’s unusual to find historical fiction with a real sense of place.
