Buddha Bamboo Grove Mural Mayra rolled out slabs of clay. Adding clay to form the basic Buddha shape, she then carved in the detail, bringing life to the form. Using extruded forms, she created the bamboo, carving in the detail when the clay was leather hard. Then the rocks, mountains and waterfall were carved in after adding clay to form a high relief. After careful drying over several days it was bisc fired, then glazed with Mayra's Celadon glaze formulation and fired to 2400 degrees in a controlled reduction atmosphere. Three separate tiles make this mural. They can be set together or with a space between each. Middle tile measures 17" x 8.5" End tiles measure 14" x 8" each 3/8" - 1" thick The tiles are created to be offset, as per example in the photos.
