Independently published The Big Kalimba Songbook: 100+ Songs (10 and 17 Key)

I find this has been a great starter book for me. I bought a kalimba and want to be able to play it properly. Most of the books out there only teach songs such a nursery rhymes for children but I didn’t really want to play baa baa black sheep I prefer something like canon. This does have children’s music but also adult songs too so good for both child or adult kalimba players.

Not well known songs for me or for my granddaughter, who I bought this for, some mistakes in the notations and some frankly, quite gory songs, maybe well known but not a good addition in this book, maybe was included as a joke? Also some added songs with sharps and flats and no indication on how to play a sharp or flat without actually re-tuning the kalimba. I was going to return this item as I am not happy with the content but it's such a hassle I'll have to keep it I think but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for children. On a good note the songs are easy to follow with notes and numbers to read.

Just what I wanted. Good explanation of how to read different types of Kalimba notation. Great old songs- haven’t played the Minstrel Boy since I had an accordion from a junk shop 60 years ago! Hours of fun!
