This item is heavy which helps cut through the pastry but you still have to press down to make sure that you’ve cut through. It needs to be cleaned immediately otherwise it’s VERY difficult. Very useful gadget.

Really nice wood and steel. The weight of the thing conveys a really good quality item. I always aim towards top end with items that matter and I've no doubt this is very high quality bit of kit and its aesthetically joyous due to the lovely bit of wood used to make the handle. All of what I've said so far I'd gathered before even using it. I can add that it does its job perfectly and effortlessly. I gave 4 stars for cleaning because it's (inescapably) awkward due to its shape, with all those roller cutters. It's one of those things to clean immediately after use so that a slightly awkward job doesn't become a very awkward one. Usually you have to pay a load more to get a lesser improvement, but with this a fee pounds more gives you a massive quality return, so highly recommended.

I previously had a plastic version that snapped after being used just a few times, hence this purchase. It is very sturdy and easy to use. I just wash it by hand so not sure about being dishwasher proof. If you haven't got one in your gadget drawer you are missing out. Buy quality.

This arrived with the roller disconnected from the handle. Not sure if this was how it was supposed to be . It was far too hard for me to connect the two points and I had to find someone strong to do it. I was disappointed in the performance when I used it on pastry. It only partly cut through, which made a bit of a ragged appearance when I tried to lift it.
