Beware The Bobbin Holding Mechanism
I purchased this machine to replace an aging, simple Singer with North American voltage that I had to leave behind when we moved to the UAE. The video is handy, and the owner’s manual is fairly easy to navigate. However, when I first tried to set up the (rather complicated) bobbin, the two black toggles on each side of the casing let go and the two-piece mechanism fell out. (I have to wonder if they were loosened during transport, as the courier was holding the box upside down when delivered.) I managed to figure out how to snap it back together after an hour or so, and so far, it’s working well. But beware those toggles, as they slide aside very easily and it’s tricky to put it all back together.
