The Home Edit Life: The No-Guilt Guide to Owning What You Want and Organizing Everything

A pretty book but disappointing on organisation tips
Like many, I bought this book having watched the series. It certainly projects the personalities of Clea and Joanna - it even contains a quiz on which presenter you are most like and little ‘true story’ anecdotes about their experiences so it is a book as much about the presenters as their suggestions for organisation. It has beautiful photographs and numerous name drops of ‘famous’ people but is a disappointment. The sections on organising spaces if you are a fashion blogger or party planner will only be useful to the few. I had hoped for practical tips for organising your average home , eg a section on suggestions of how to use different ‘bins’ for storage or how to organise a wardrobe rather than a closet that contains more shoes than I’ve had in my lifetime ( I don’t actually have a shoe cupboard) . I expect the idea is for the reader to translate the organisation of a huge walk in pantry to your kitchen cupboards but if you are looking for a book full of practical tips I don’t think this book delivers.

Pointless
My expectation was that this book would provide practical advice and tips. It doesn’t.It’s essentially lots of pictures with authors banging on about clients and their kids and personality tests - really not what I hoped for and bloomin expensive for what it is. Disappointing

Needed more images
I wasn’t impressed with this at all. More reading and little images to demonstrate ideas which I felt was a let down. I like to see the ideas and had bought this book expecting to see plenty of illustrations of how things would look and projected ideas. It wasnt so

Just watch the Netflix show
Felt like a promotional book for the series rather than a useful resource! Save your money and watch the tv series

Not for the average person...
After devouring The Home Edit series on Netflix, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I wanted to love it but felt like only 25% of the book catered to the average person and 75% for a celebrity or someone with LOTS of space. Four pages on different strategies to organize your pantry or kitchen would be more helpful than four pages about how the closet of an Instagram famous pug was organized. Most people are working with small spaces not wondering how they can organize their "napkin closet".Overall, I think this book read more of a "this is what we did for X celebrity in their massive home with lots of space!" than guiding the average person with their clutter and organization challenges.
