Scholastic Pocket Dictionary of Synonyms, Antonyms, Homonyms

My 9 year old grandson and I love this little book. It's good for all ages and is really a learning tool. For example, he knows the word for something but has learned that there are other words that mean the same and it's fun to use that different word. That's just one section of the book.

the colors used in the dictionary are really eye catching. I specially liked the last pages where they give you a simple and easy to understand definition of the parts of speech.The introduction of how to use the dictionary needs to have highlighted key words such as the definitions of what is a synonym and antonym.The Homonyms part which is at the end,I think those pages should have a different color on top so it is easier to find and doesn't get lost with the other content in the dictionary.FOR THE MOST PART IT REALLY IS A HANDY GUIDE FOR ANY STUDENT.

I'm grateful that this great book relieves me of words that grated MY mind.

This is a great book for kids 8 and up to use when really starting to build on there writing skills and learning how to write paragraphs and which is the correct to use in the right sentence etc...I purchased this before for my daughter who is now 19 and now for my son who is 9 and the 19 year old was like I want this book lol it was a great tool too use and I can use it in college....overall it's great book

Note: the item description clearly said that is a POCKET dictionary, with 12,000 synonyms, 10,000 antonyms, and 2,000 homonyms. So that being said... this book is a helpful tool for kids at school. The 1st part of the book is synonyms and antonyms. The antonyms are in italic font after the list of synonyms. The 2nd part is the homonyms from page 208 -237. From pages 238-240 include helpful information about the parts of speech.

Great for my grandkids ranging from 5-13 !! Helps them learn new words that mean the same thing... awesome to use when they have to write paragraphs or something describing it
