Bethesda Rage 2 /PS4

Impressively world to explore, can be a little repetitive at times.

This game plays really nice. It's fun shooting, driving, flying. Some people complain about the in-game tutorials, but to be honest, I actually think this game does almost everything right.Except that I seem not to be able to finish the game. There's a known bug that makes it impossible to enter the final phase. So I'm finding myself really enjoying playing this game, even considering buying the add-ons, but having to restart the game. I did not rack up savegames. Reinstalling did not work.And I'm thinking: there have been 9 patches already and still Bethesda has not fixed the big that prevents you from finishing the game. 9!So: don't buy the game. It's great fun. It's really enjoyable. But Bethesda just wants your money. And Avalanche, the developer, has no pride.

Very disappointed by the new direction the franchise has taken!.....Loved the original RAGE and would go as far as to say it was a favourite of mine on the PS3. It possessed a very unique identity that set it apart from its contemporaries, with signatures such as the wing-stick and defibrillator health system. Every event was distinct from any other, due to the change in music, atmosphere, lighting, shading, etc.Hence, you can understand I would be less than satisfied when I was looking for a story driven shooter to compare to the first, and instead got a post apocalyptic Grand Theft Auto, come Red Faction Guerilla. All is not lost however, as described below-Positives-great shooting mechanics, destructive environment, excellent driving experience, nice weapon & ability upgrades, returning characters, nice recreation of Wellspring, some cool mutants.Negatives-Dull storyline, boring/repetitive side missions that can't be avoided, main campaign that is too short, huge map with no purpose, mediocre atmosphere, irritating health system (not enough health infusions available during missions), less than interesting locations like Gunbarrel, comparatively less compelling clans, unnecessary add-ons that should have been part of the main game.Honestly, my personal opinion is that Avelanche Studios should have stayed well away and ID Software should have had more conviction in their own ideas. The success of the original was down to their foresight, afterall. I believe that Avelanche were selected for the project based on Just Cause, which, lets be honest is average at best anyhow.Too much aimless, rambling, open world sandbox. Not enough story driven, atmospheric, shooter with a purpose.

Really fun open world shooter. Loved the first Rage so was looking forward to this. Pleasantly surprised in a lot of ways but disappointed in others. Story itself is very short and straight forward so you are encouraged to explore the quite large world and complete tasks such as clearing camps, finding fallen soldiers etc. Doing so unlocks lots of ways to upgrade and improve the gameplay but upon doing so I found the game far too straightforward and easy! It is nice being overpowered but missed the challenge. I would recommend if available cheap and you want a fun gunner, but don't expect a masterpiece. I like the way Rage has gone but needs improving. Hopefully they will with Rage 3?

Gameplay is amazing, controls are tight ans responsive, graphics and world design are pretty good, but the game is just very boring and repetitive. If you're not burned out on open world games, give it a try. If you are, just stay away from this one, because it's full of cookie cutter open world stuff and the story is absolutely uninteresting. Overall mediocre game.

Excellent game, if you liked rage on ps3, then you will love this game. As I think it's slightly better. Not so much of a story line, only 7 missions. But there are plenty of side missions to do. So I would recommend this game, HIGHLY.
