A Shakespeare Story: Macbeth

I purchased this book for the same reason as other reviews have done; my 14 year old daughter is reading Macbeth as part of her English GCSE and neither myself or my husband are familiar with the story to help explain it to her. Rather than throwing her in at the deep end with the Shakespeare language, we decided that this version would be helpful for her to at least get to grips with the story. I'm so pleased we did. We sat and read this story together in 45 minutes, stopping on occasions to clarify the direction of the story. It could be read more quickly, but we discussed things as we went along. The book has quirky illustrations and is split into short paragraphs with an easier language for younger people to understand. Would definitely recommend...

My 10 year old grandson was doing Shakespeare as his topic at school and I was trying to find a way to "translate" Shakespeare's plays into an easy read for him. I didn't need to be worried at all as this story of Macbeth was an easy, exciting, and an enthralling read for both him and for me to read to him. Well worth the money to buy and have on the book shelf. We are now looking into buy some of the other books of Shakespeare's plays as we all love them.

My 9years old boy loved the story and finished within a day. He is sad that the book came in small version. Nice story!!!

It’s simple version with pictures for the kids to understand the story.

This was a present for a scholar taking Macbeth for exams.They found it easy to understand before reading Wm Shakespeare's book. The pictures and the text were very good to read and look at and would suit all ages.
