I dont understand how they can sell this for wood carving since the wood is not good for carving at all.. Also it is really small in size,

Great spoon carving blank, it would be nice if the wood was thicker.

Personally I thought the one inch square prices were a bit small to use.i can't think what I can use them for open to suggestions. The other blocks were really good. Its a good wood for beginners who want a relitavly soft wood with tight grain . Like most beginners I am using chisells and knives I have had for years blunt and useless mainly . But being an old meany I didn't want to spend money on expensive knives and chisells only to find out it was to hard to do or it wasn't for me. I have had a go at a couple of things and while I'm not to happy with the results I did enjoy it and plan to get some better tools. You can get a knife for about 20/30 pounds and that's all you really need loads of stuff on you tube to get you started. This is the wood you need though dont start with pine or oak or any of those. The reason being you will not get the results you can from this wood and your disappointment would proberly mean you give up. I would advise anyone wanting to have a go get this pack and a carving knife. A total of less than 50 pounds but hours of fun for your money. I have put the pictures of both my efforts and honestly these are my first attempts with pants knives .I was using lino cutting tools and an old Swiss army penknife and some rusty old chisells. I say Swiss army penknife its really just a swiss as it came apart and never went back together really well one broken blade. So more just a swiss .

This is Excellent carving wood. It doesn’t chip while carving and it is a very smooth wood to cave. The different sizes in wood make it great for different projects and the price is Awsome for the type of wood. I will be buying again.
