Green: Simple Ideas for Small Outdoor Spaces

I can not recommend this book highly enough. It is not a technical 'how to' book although there are tips, techniques and a few plant details at the end of the book. The gardens featured are wonderful. There 's not a single one I didn't fall completely in love with. All small but perfectly formed. I enjoy gardening but would not class myself as either 'keen' or 'knowledgeable' and because the gardens featured are small they felt accessible to me and gave me a few ideas for our own small plot.The book is incredibly easy to read: each garden is covered over several pages with minimal but eloquent text. It's a good book to pick up for a few minutes and immerse yourself in one of the wonderful gardens featured. I absolutely love it. Congratulations Ula and the designers/owners of the gardens.

This book contains some great photographs, is well written and contains a lot of inspiration. It's not a lengthy book but I like the fact that there's always something to look at and I find myself picking it up often. If you're looking for a technical how to book, then this is probably not for you, but if you love modern architectural gardens and good photos, then this book is a must.

This book was exactly what I wanted - many, many ideas for my own small garden. Very well written and the photographs were top-notch. I can thoroughly recommend this book. However, don't buy it if you simply want a list of plants to suit sun, shade, etc. This is not the intention of this book. Please bring out a second edition soon!!

We follow Ula on instagram and have always loved her style of gardening. When I heard this book was available I couldn't wait to add it to our collection and it doesn't disappoint. So many great ideas for small spaces to create that Instaworthy Garden at home.Cannot recommend it enough!

A nice balance of fundamental design concepts for small garden spaces including materials, structure and planting along with specific plant recommendations for different qualities or environmental conditions. Concepts are clearly explored in a variety of case studies. A beautiful and useful book!
