I was so pleased to see that there were examples and tips on how to choose the best colors for the pictures.

This is such a great twist on the adult coloring books. I have numerous coloring books but this one with the chalkboard background is my favorite. So many beautiful pages. Me and my daughters are already picking ones we want to color and get frames for to hang up. Nice sturdy pages and lots of colored pictures to give you some shading ideas.

In the beginning of the book, there is a little bit about the author and some advice about colored pencils, sharpeners, and erasers. Then a couple of pages about how her art becomes a coloring page, followed with some examples of her art. After that, there is a page on color theory and a page with tips and tricks for chalkboard art. Both of these pages are really helpful, especially if you're just beginning with coloring, or have trouble picking colors. Then some pages of colored samples, for inspiration, are included.There are 32 beautifully unique pictures to color printed on single sided, thick, perforated paper. I love the black background! I will update with some colored examples with different mediums, as I get them done.In the first picture, I used generic gel pens, with no bleed through.

This coloring book has gorgeous illustrations, uplifting sayings, perforated pages, thick paper with only one drawing per page, and guidance aimed at helping beginners choose pleasing color schemes.One thing I wish I had known when I bought the book... the vast majority of colored pictures uploaded here were not colored by the buyer - they are included in the book as examples of what you can do. This matters because I was under the impression that I could expect to get those results. I hate to break it to you, but those colored illustrations were done by pros who were likely not using colored pencils and markers alone.That said, you can absolutely create beautiful pictures and I have definitely enjoyed coloring them. I will upload a couple of the pictures I colored (I use colored pencils and gel pens.) I found most markers to be too dark against the black background.

If you like regular style coloring books, you will love this! It's such a fun twist on a regular coloring book. They are much more fun to do than you would think, and I think in the end they look so much better because the background is colored in for you! It really doesn't matter what colors you use because the picture just pops off the page and makes whatever you do, ANYTHING you do look fantastic! Pictures are fun and range in detail which I also love, sometimes it's nice to have a detailed picture, sometimes you just want something easy and this book has both. I imagine these would be perfect for the elderly because they don't have to worry about staying in the lines. The black background covers a multitude of sins.

To say I'm Thrilled with this coloring book is an understatement! With almost 100 in my collection now I'm fairly choosy as to which ones I actually sit down and color in and when I received this book I immediately had to color in it. My first one wasn't as successful as I used colored pencils and this book just really responds much better to bright markers and gel pens. I love leaving some of the image white which just makes all the other colors POP off the page. The paper is super thick and luscious and perforated and WOW.. just go buy it, you won't be sorry. The image I shared is done with Tombow Markers. I didn't use any blending pen, I just went with straight bright colors on this.. maybe next time I'll try blending.

Great Coloring book and great price! This is one of my very favorites. I like the quality and thickness of the paper, the designs are wonderful and it makes it super fun to complete the pages. If I was purchasing a coloring book as a gift this would be my first choice. You could be a beginner and enjoy it and a seasoned artist. I have used watercolor pencils, watercolors, water based inks with a blender pen, colored pencils and some chalk inks I already had in my craft stash.

I love this book! I use it with gel ink pens. It is wonderfully relaxing. I have bought 2 other books since and truly enjoy it. It brings out my creative side. The pictures are beautiful and cheerful! I send them to friends and family members to let them know thatI am thinking about them. It always cheers them up.
