Thames & Hudson The Complete Zaha Hadid: Expanded and Updated

She deserves better....
Too small, too compact and too jumbled for my liking. It’s more a handbook than a proper work of photographic art - though the final ‘objects, furniture, interiors’ is a welcome addition. There are the odd exceptions of course (eg. the London Aquatics Centre) but invariably these are in the second half of the book where the editors have allowed a greater variety of photographs to do the talking. The first half seems at times little more than a mass of computer generated schematics and flashy fonts. Even worse: the pointless miniscule 8 x 6cms photos that transect the spine....making all effect meaningless. And why write all 200 + project titles on their side (vertically) for heavens sake? Just to satisfy some gimmickry on the part of the editor.....bah!Hopefully the marvellous Taschen will publish another updated, large scale work (complimenting the slightly ‘arty’ one they did in 2013) that does justice to Hadid’s spectacular talent. In the meantime don’t get too excited about this stunted effort....

complete
Very nice and exhaustive book about this amazing woman, with lots of pictures and not so much text, which is perfect for a the purpose of showing her work. Good prints, with good photos. The format could have probably been better, such as a landscape A4, always more suited to architecture books, but it is still well worth it, and a must for any Hadid fans.No marks for Amazon which, in the occurrence sent me an unwrapped book (these art books always come in a blister) which shows signs of being used, so it is most certainly a return from someone else which they are recycling: I contacted customer service and they do not want to hear about it. (Sorry, I know, this is not about the item)

Fantasitc.
Zaha Hadid has done some great work, many of her best projects are in here, although not too much information is given about each one. Alot of info seems to be more about random more arty projects which dont make as much sence for Architects such as myself, more for artists. Nevertheless, Its very clear, well made and still interesting!
