I remember reading this fantastic book as a child and I simply adored it. We just drove across Canada and we listened to it again, I loved it as much now as I did then

We read it loud at the dinner table, and even my husband shed a tear. Great story of a boy who with a hard work and determination achieved his dream and bought himself a pair of hunting dogs. A story of friendship, sacrifice and love. We all loved it

Although it's intended as a children's book, I, currently in university, still found the story captivating and immersive.

I first encountered this beautiful touching story as a movie when I was a child and it took me quite a while to get hold of the DVD (this is a 1974 movie). So, when I found a book, I bought it as well. The story is about a young boy working hard to buy a pair of dogs he wants so much, their mutual strong bond and the love between the dogs themselves. Keep some tissues close-by, the beauty of it will make you cry.
