A good read
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Before I say more, I wanted to put a semi SPOILER warning on my review.Pros- The story was definitely different from Fifty Shades, this wasn't just a rehash of old ground- The writing style has definitely gotten better and is very readable- Overall the plot is engaging, an interesting and rather dark reworking of the 'Cinderella' tale- Sex scenes were better written than Fifty Shades, less cringe-y!- Characters were likeable (give Maxim a chance!) and well fleshed out - and you actually cared about what happened to them- Handling of subjects such as domestic violence and grief was done sensitively and with respectCons- This is a 500 (and 22) page book that I feel could have benefited from being a 300 page book, some of the in between scenes were a bit long drawn out and you were sort of left thinking: get on with the story!- Sex scenes were not very varied, we know it's fiction but do they have to simultaneously climax EVERY time?!- There was a lot of swearing throughout the book, particularly within the first 100 pages or so.- I don't think any character should use the phrase 'F*** a duck' - ironically or not. This is an enjoyable read. Fans of Fifty Shades who can appreciate something more 'vanilla' will enjoy this book. And will probably be pleased to know that when they get to the end it is set up perfectly for a sequel!

Oh dear!
Really, really poor! A pretty basic storyline and a lot of kinky scenes along the way presumably to keep the reader’s interest. Fifty shades had a better story, this one is so lame I really wouldn’t bother wasting your money. All the characters are dull and stereotypes, it’s embarrassingly bad writing. If you’ve just come for the naughty bits you might like it, but to be honest there are so many, it gets boring!

Dissapointed
Did not like this book at all, i liked the character maxim but alissia just annoyed me she didn't seem to be able to even have a conversation with him in english i was actually hoping he would finish with her and find someone else near the end as it doesn't seem like a relationship that would even last. will certainly be staying away if there is another book to this series released.

A fun fairy tale romance.
The Mister is a sweet, fairy tale romance, which tells the story of a blossoming relationship between a lord and his ‘daily’ in modern times. The hero has all the right swoon-worthy ingredients and the heroine is a 2019 damsel in distress. The chemistry is great, as you’d expect from E L James and there is quite an interesting. subplot covering a serious real-world issue. Some occurrences in the book felt a bit repetitive and less was made of the serious theme in the middle of the book than I’d have liked so for me, a shift in balance would have made this a little bit more gripping as the middle lulled a little. There were also a few hmmm or eye roll moments. However, it’s a bit of fun and an easy read if you fancy some frivolous entertainment and the pace picks up quite well towards the end. If you like romance I’d give it a whirl.Genre: romance (some graphic scenes / mild erotica)Rating: 3.5⭐️
