Phone Saver
Life saver for my phone. After putting a new official ROM on my phone it wouldn't let me get past the Google verify account sign in at the start. Going round the internet i read that Google has a special super secret way of locking you out of your phone and makes you wait 24 or 72 hours before you can get access. In my opinion its a terrible thing to spring on people because it gives no warning that it is going to happen if you do a factory reset of your phone. In my case and for many others even after the waiting period it still kept me locked out and made my phone little more than a paperweight. Just as well i wasn't a doctor or someone who relied on their phone for work.Eventually after many days of trying many different solutions that were offered i found a way that might work but it needed a OTG cable, a memory stick and an APK file to put on it. Bought the OTG from here and it worked perfectly. I was so relieved that something so cheap saved me a good couple of hundred quid, well in fact double that because i would have had to buy another phone.Peace

DJI Spark OTG? This is the cable for you ;-)
I originally ordered the USB Type C Version of this cable based on incorrect advice for getting an OTG connection between my phone and the DJI Spark drone controller. Essentially, if you want to connect for the same purpose, the OTG cable needs to be connected to the remote controller end of the chain, not vice versa as I was advised.OTG now works like a dream between my Android phone, controller and the Spark, so wanted to share for anyone trying to achieve the same thing ;-)

Works perfectly on Samsung S7
I have recently been getting into retro gaming and I needed an easy way to transfer the game ROM files to both my Samsung S7 phone and Nexus 7 tablet.Doing this sort of thing on a computer is really easy but for some reason, the tablet & phone makers seem to have been dragging their heels. Just about every non-Apple device has a micro USB port on it these days but using it to transfer data from something as simple as a USB drive is not always straight forward.I knew nothing about any of this when I started but it would seem that you need to ensure that your device is OTG compliant. There are Apps which will test for this (although apparently the results are not always reliable) but in my case the App was correct. Anyway, I found an App and it told me that both my Nexus 7 (2013 model) and Samsung S7 support OTG. It may also be worth noting that none of my devices have been 'rooted' and they are just 'stock' devices.I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something that might not work so I bought this cable. When it arrived, I plugged one end into my phone and connected the other end to a Kingston USB stick. The stick was recognised as were the files on it. Transferring the files from the stick to my phone was just a matter of using a File Manager App. The same happened when I plugged it into my Nexus 7.Not willing to stop there, I fished out my Xbox compatible USB controller which I sometimes use when playing games on my laptop. I connected it to Nexus via the UGREEN cable and it worked with my emulator. I really couldn't have expected any better.Overall, if you want an easy way of transferring files to your phone from your PC (and maybe using a game controller), this cable is an inexpensive and simple way to do it. I am just about to order a spare. The only caveat is that your device must support OTG.

Cable for attaching external storage drives to Android devices
This device has a micro USB (male) on one end and a USB 2.0 (female) on the other. It allows you to plug an external hard drive or pen drive into an Android phone or tablet. The device works off of the phone's / tablet's power supply and the phone / tablet recognises the external device as a storage drive. It's great for loading up films / music / TV shows onto pen drives when you go on holiday so you can keep your phone / tablet free for all those selfies! This particular device has plastic housings around the ends. There are others with metal housings but the plastic on this one seems to be fairly durable.

Works and clips in well.
A little expensive for what it is but appears to be quite well built. Resistance relief for the cable is a good thing.Deducted a star because there a slight variation in the two clip in pins, as they are identifcal as pieces of metal this means there is a difference in either the internals or the spring tension. In this case it appears to be the spring tension as it is also set slightly further back. I've not included a picture as the difference is only around 0.5mm so won't show up with the camera I'd use. It might be ok, but small variations in quality control such as this can lead to early failure (I'm going with the pin that isn't fully extended failing first). It might be fine and if it fails within the next year or so I'll update. Otherwise all good.
