Big game changer for us!
I bought this after my wife and I realized we'd accidentally left the garage open for at least a day--possibly two. Now, we live in a very safe area, but that was not the first time the garage sat open longer than intended. Nothing was taken, but I didn't want to have this happen again. Now to the review: I have a Wayne Dalton Classicdrive 3018, which is not technically supported. I reviewed the specs and figured it should be OK. The first picture shows the side, the bottom two screws are where you will need to attach the Refoss with the rest of your equipment. I tested the item prior to installation, and after a few minutes of fun pulling the magnets apart and together, watching the app show the status in near real-time, I started. The electrical connections were easy--two screws in the Wayne Dalton, just hook the wires in (it doesn't matter which color wire attaches to the terminal). There's a power outlet for the garage door opener in the ceiling, and I just plugged the USB header into the open outlet. Easy enough. Getting the door sensors on was tricky. At first I thought to put it on the top of the door, but my door has a sharp angle at the top, and the sensors would not line up based on the distance. After a bit of poking around and watching the door open and close, I placed the sensors to the far upper corner of the door--I could not chance having the sensor scrape on the guide rail for the garage door, and the upper part of the door was the only place that never came close to contact with the rail. Because of the tight fit, screws were out of the question entirely (not that I was going to try drilling into the solid frame of the door). The answer was Gorilla Glue epoxy, to glue the magnets into the desired space. As shown, they fit very handsomely close together without touching or rubbing against one another. I won't lie--it took a lot longer than it should have to figure that part out. Tying it into Alexa was easy--same way you hook everything else into Alexa--download the skill, give it access to the device with your username/password, and done. You can simply tap the garage door button in the ehome app--easy, no fuss. Alexa will close the door without any kind of issue, and opening via Alexa requires a 4-digit password, for the record she will respond to the number zero as either 'zero' or 'oh'--nice little touch. I set it to close after 1 hour of being open--it worked flawlessly. I also--as a safety check--set it to close at 8pm. It worked in both circumstances. As a bonus, it lets you know the date and time the door is opened, and closes. Not that I'm that nosy, but having a means to see when my daughter will get home from school is a handy little feature. Finally, I used zip ties to hold the device to the garage door strap. I know the wires are messy, I'll clean those up another time because at 12:15 on a North Carolina day in July, you don't want to be in the garage anymore. This was a great buy for the money. It works, it was very effective and I am pleased with the results. I very much recommend this product. I was never going to buy a new garage door opener unless the current one died. This gave me features that I never thought I'd see in my home, and the peace of mind knowing that the garage will be locked and secure--even if we forget to close it--is immense. This is a must for anyone looking to upgrade their garage, integrate it into your smart home, and allow for easy verification of the status of the door whether by notification that it opened/closed, or to simply say "Alexa, is the garage open?" and get an answer--AND then close it remotely. Best of all, with the app on all our phones, my daughter doesn't even need a house key, she can literally walk up, open the garage, and get inside--very good news on those rainy days getting off the bus for school. I am genuinely impressed by this device.

Easy to Install and Works Flawlessly!
I was a little skeptical when I bought and initially setup this wifi garage door opener device because I had read that similar devices sometimes worked/didn't work sporadically and even lost wifi connection off and on. I've been using this device daily for a week now, and I've had no issues whatsoever! Below is some information on my impression of the setup, installation, and use of the Refoss Smart Wifi Garage Door Opener. Initial Setup: I really liked the ability to setup & configure the wifi connection before even placing the device in its final destination in the garage. The instructions were easy to follow and walked you through the steps of downloading the app for your phone, setting up an account, then plugging the device into an outlet, connecting to the device's wifi SSID, and finally connecting to your home's wifi. The instructions make sure to let you know that the wifi settings will be saved so that your device will simply reconnect automatically when you plug it into the final spot in your garage - that worked perfectly. Installation: Total installation probably took me about an hour. No drilling, screws or tools were actually used in my installation. I used the included materials + a little duct tape (to secure the sensor wire along the wall and to some of the metal support beams). Most of the time needed was for me to figure out exactly where I wanted to run the wire that connects the main device to the sensor you locate at the door. I've included a few photos of my setup. The wires that control the open & close functionality were easy to position. The instructions tell you to turn off the power for your garage door opener before performing that part of the install, but I'll admit that I didn't turn off the power. I just placed each of the two control wires from the device in the same spots with the existing garage door opener wires. No issues whatsoever, and once I plugged the device in the ceiling, the smart phone app immediately worked to open and close the garage door. I then proceeded to run the sensor wire. You'll see in one of the photos that I positioned one of the two sensors (the one not connected to a wire) on the metal side of the garage door. I didn't even need to use tape because the bottom of that sensor has a magnet on it which worked perfectly. I then positioned the other sensor (with the wire connected to it) on the wall directly across from the sensor on the side of the door. I used two pieces of the included double-sided tape to stick that sensor to the wall. At this point, installation was done. I just used the duct tape to secure the positioning of the sensor wire and to look nice. Using the Smart Opener: Now that installation is done, using the app was easy. There are a few settings to play with if you'd like (mostly for notifications), and as soon as I opened the door, a push notification was sent immediately to my phone telling me that the garage door had been opened. After I closed the door, I received another push notification immediately notifying me that the garage door had been closed. I love that! I eventually setup the Alexa integration, following the included instructions in the app, and it worked exactly as stated. If there's one thing that I'm not 100% pleased with, it's part of the Alexa integration. It's important to know, however, that this has nothing to do with the capabilities of this device. The limitation/issue that I have is actually a purposeful constraint of the way "locks" work with Alexa, and a garage door opener is considered a type of lock because it opens & closes a locked entrance to the home. The constraint is that it is not possible to use your voice to "unlock" or open the garage door without including a separate response for a PIN code. This isn't terrible, but it does make it impossible to add an Alexa routine with a voice phrase of your choice to open the garage door. You *can* create a routine to close the garage door easily enough, however. Overall, this is a great product at a very reasonable price. I've had no issues whatsoever, and I now have a reliable way to open and/or close the garage door from anywhere. Great product in my opinion!

Three or four years ago I bought 2 of these MSG100 garage door devices to use with my really old Chamberlain garage door openers that are easily 25 years old. Installation was straight forward and they worked pretty well for years! My household is dominated by Apple HomeKit products, so buying the HomeKit version was a must! Fast forward to last month, one of my 25 year old garage openers finally bit the dust so I had to replace it. The new garage door opener was also a Chamberlain and this one has MyQ smart capability. Except, MyQ doesn't support HomeKit! So I thought, no worries I'll just hook up the MSG100 again. So that's what I did. Except, it didn't work. I triple checked the wiring and made sure it was correct and it still didn't work. So I jumped on the MeRoss website to research this issue and quickly learned that any door opener with a YELLOW learn button wasn't compatible with the MSG100. However, all was not lost as I also learned that MeRoss already had a fix for this! The fix was a little adaptor that you hooked to the MSG100 and paired with the Chamberlain opener. I just fill out on online form and they send one. The adaptor cost me nothing and they were also willing to ship that adaptor to me free of charge. It arrived at my door in about 4 days. It took me five minutes to hook it up to the MSG100 and pair it and now it works perfectly with HomeKit and Siri. So I want to thank Suda from MeRoss for shipping me that adaptor and solving that issue so quickly. Great company with good products and people that support them! I also own some of their smart plugs and ive never had an issue with any of them. I promise i will purchase more MeRoss products in the future!

I’ve been using the Refoss garage door opener for a while now, and it’s been fantastic. Setup was straightforward and only took a few minutes with the app’s clear instructions. It connects seamlessly to Wi-Fi and integrates perfectly with smartthings/home assistant/Google Assistant, making it incredibly convenient to open or close the garage with my phone or voice commands. The real-time notifications and door status feature give great peace of mind, especially when I’m away from home. It’s fast, reliable, and feels very well built for the price. Great customer service, I placed an order for second one and needed an accessory. They shipped me the accessory even though I purchased it over year ago. Overall, this is an excellent smart upgrade for any garage—highly recommended!
