This is a great little hatchet
This is a great little hatchet! Arrived "shaving sharp," handle grain orientation just about perfect, accomplishes "one-handed" chores like nobodies' business and at 12+" just about fits in a lunch box, much less a day pack. Easy creation of feather sticks, yet enough mass to easily split kindling off any short logs, (or thru the toes of hikers' soft-toe trail shoes, so be careful.) Price note: This item went up about 40% when the news of Wetterlings "going out of business" became public. (I was lucky.) And now availability seems to be what's already on sellers' shelves now. Consumer suggestion: be patient, keep looking and don't let anyone raid your wallet. There are other quality tool makers out there.

Great!!
Works great and splits wood fairly easy. Might need some more sharpening upon arrival but no big deal.

If you appreciate quality this is for you
A little pricey, but I love buying high-quality items Not made in China! feels so good in your hand. wetterlings has a long and interesting history. spend the extra cash on something you'll cherish for life, I think it's worth it.

I do like the feel and weight of it
I purchased a small Wetterling hatchet from another company. The hatchet came with a highly polished edge and a small ding in it from a rivet in the sheath. The pole was slanted a bit. I am sure the company would have returned it, but I didn't think it was worth paying the return shipping. I do like the feel and weight of it. I am going to drill out the rivets in front of the blade and hand stitch the sheath back up. In summary I think Wetterling makes some nice hatchets, but you may come across a quality control issue. I have not had a problem with returning things with amazon.

A great, hand made tool
I own quite a few hatchets and small axes and this is my go to tool. It is a hand-forged Swedish axe with a VERY sharp bit. With decent care it will last several lifetimes. Wetterlings is either out of business now or merged with Gransfors Bruks so I'm not sure about the warranty. IMHO it's of no concern. .
