Great hiking boots.
Amazing hiking boots that have lasted a long time. I am an avid hiker going on day hikes at least once a week. I have used these to climb half dome. They are very comfy and fit my size well. One note, do not add extra insoles on top of the existing ones. Either take the stock ones out for something else, or just leave them in because they are perfectly fine. It is good to have good socks also. Highly recommended for hikers. There is other stuff out there that might be a little better, and good for extreme hikers, but I think these are probably fine for most regular hikers.

A Great Pair of Boots
Love them ! Im a Park Ranger so I am on my feet all day walking the park and hiking up steep mountain terrain. I normally take an 11 but ordered a 11.5 to accommodate a pair of thick wool sock. They required no break in and are probably the most comfortable hiking boots that I have ever had. I have not purposely stepped in streams to see how water resistant they are, but can tell you that my feet have been nice and dry even in the rain. Im not sure if I would wear them in the hot and humid NC summers, I will have to wait for next summer to provide input on that. But for the cooler fall and early winter they have kept my feet very, very comfortable.

A quality boot that will hopefully last at least a year.
Pros:Sized properly.Supportive.Comfortable once broken in.Vibram (long lasting) sole.Reasonably priced.Attractive.Cons:The ankle section requires about a week of break in.Insole has no cushioning. A third party, cushioned insole is recommended.Laces are too short to lace to the top facets.Sole lacks anti-puncture layer.

Not impressed
Pretty narrow boots they still fit fine but narrow. Some of the rubber on the toe appears to be starting to come apart I'm gonna keep my eye on it for he next little bit. All in all the quality level doesn't seem to be on par for vasque and I'm not too impressed by them. The insoles went bye bye as soon as I got them l, they are absolute garbage.

Awesome!
I previously bought the Breeze 2. I like Taku somehow. It is better to order half a size smaller. This shoe also runs big like the Breeze 2. I heard people saying that it takes more time to break in this shoe. But felt it very comfortable right out of the box. Planning to wear it to a 6200m peak in Himalayas. The foot roll on Vasque shoes is always unique. Taku has a awesome foot roll. And very light. One just wants to keep walking. The lugs on the outersole are not very deep. Not sure if this can cause any issue to heavy back packers. Overall an awesome shoe.

Great design, great looks. Will get the job done!
These boots are incredible. I ordered in Wide based on some other reviews and am glad I did. Their Wide seems like a normal width from any other company. The build quality is exceptional – this company rocks. The sole feels like it propels me forward when walking. Toe cap seems well-sealed and the lacing is not bad. Very comfortable and they look great. I was hoping the beluga color to be a bit lighter in person, but in actuality it was a dark charcoal.

I loved the boots and they are very comfortable and work ...
I loved the boots and they are very comfortable and work really well if wearing all day long. I have had them for a month and the rubber lining is already peeling off so I am disappointed in them as fast as how long the lasted. I wish there was some way I could talk to company about it.

Takus vs Breezes
UPD: I've been wearing these around during my daily task to break them in, and I've done a few short hikes in them. I move around a lot 24/7, and haven't had any problems so far. I replaced my Vasque Breeze GTX with these. I prefer the all leather ghille design of these boots better than the vented design of the Breezes. However in the Summer when it's really hot, I may buy another hybrid boot just for the hot days so these can breathe. I normally only carry a day pack with water, and do fast hikes and scrambles. This boot has about an inch higher shaft than the Breeze, however there's not a big difference in weight. They are taking a little longer to break in than my Breezes and one thing to note... I wear a wide boot, and these wide size Takus are a little more narrow in the forefoot than my Breezes. This could just be due to them not being broke in yet. Since there fully enclosed leather instead of leather and panels like the Breezes, this may just be a matter of them getting broke in.
