Sturdiest I’ve found
I live along a main road and spend a considerable amount of time picking up trash along a 2 mile stretch. This is the best tool I have found, by far! Others with crab-like pincher claws at the end break easily. This tool pulls heavy, wet trash from mud, branches, undergrowth and more with ease! Also effortlessly picks up smaller items like bottlecaps and cigarettes. So good I purchased a second for my partner. Sometimes I do get some hand fatigue from the constant squeezing motion, but worth it as they are still in one piece and working well after their first season (when others would break after 1 day).

Great for picking up twigs
Construction is a little light but seem to be holding up. The claws are the best tool ever for picking up twigs and sticks. Most other trash forks just slip off. I have a four acre yard and these are a treat.

Terrific for trash! Clean-ups, that is.
Picked up a pair of these to help pick up gross litter around our neighborhood. So far, I'm quite satisfied. They're lightweight, the grip doesn't make your dominant hand ache, and the teeth at the end are very sharp and efficient. I've been able to pick up types of litter that my more simple pokey stick would have more issue with (ie smashed aluminum cans & cigarette butts). I would say this pair of tongs is better suited to trash-picking than a lot of other "grippers" out there that aren't specified for it. It's also pretty easy to clean and disinfect, as long as you're careful around the tong teeth. If there's any downsides, it's that being so lightweight, it probably can't lift a large amount of weight itself (I wouldn't try it). Trying to pick up "straight" things like sticks can also sometimes get the tongs tangled. If treated with care, I'm sure these will last a decent amount of time for average clean-up journeys.

Buy This One !
I’m a groundskeeper at a large high school and use this outside all day long. It’s the best we’ve had, there will be no more squeeze handle types that after a couple months the springs or cable wears out. The large jaws enable you pick up several pieces of trash at one time. Also as video shows, it works wonderfully to pick up small objects such as coins. Try doing that with most of the pointy pincher types! Unless you’re trying to pick up something that weighs several pounds, this should be sufficient for most anyone.

Great pick-up tool. Comfortable and sturdy.
I am a member of a trash pick up group. I had previously used a tool provided by the group. It was about the same size but had a thumb device- After 30 mins or so my thumb would really ache so I searched for a different model. This one uses a scissor-type action and is very comfortable to use. In addition the teeth are great and grip even small objects without difficulty. Would definitely recommend to anyone who does trash pick up.

Stop buying the ones that ALWAYS break. This is the last yard-tong you'll ever need
We live in NC, in the land of the Long Leaf Pine tree. I order stuff from Amazon 8-12 times per month, but I almost never write product reviews. Having wasted probably $200 over the past 4 years on yard tongs that break quickly, are poorly designed, or just can't take a beating, I feel compelled to write this one. I fill a 1-yard compost bin almost every week with pine cones, sticks, and magnolia leaves, EACH retrieved from the ground with a set of yard tongs. I've been doing this for about 4 years, and I've gone through about a dozen different yard tongs......until now. NOW, I have a set that I'm confident will last for life. NO PLASTIC GEARS to strip. NO FLIMSY ARMS to get misaligned when I ram the sticks into my bucket to break them down. NO WEIRD, NON-ERGONOMIC grips that force you to change hands every five minutes, just to avoid muscle cramps. These things are PERFECT !!! In every conceivable way. They are lightweight. They have no gears to strip. They have the perfect tips for grabbing everything from magnolia leaves to 3" sticks. And they seem to have been designed specifically for grabbing the ENORMOUS pine cones that come off a Long Leaf Pine. Save time, money, and aggravation and just buy these things. I wish I'd had a product review like this one before I wasted money on my first, second, third...........set.
