Joby Gorilla Lamps...So versatile
I have three Joby's in my camper and will soon buy another. They make the best reading lamps and with the magnetic feet they stick to any metal surface with ease. The three position white light gives you the correct amount of light wherever needed along with the red and flashing red mode is good for outdoor safety in an emergency. Only three AA batteries are used and they do last for long time. Be sure to remove batteries if not using for a period of time. I had one battery leak and it ruined my Joby. It's an amazing flexible and versatile light source. I highly recommend it!RAO

Joby GorillaTorch Flare 125
Came across this little item when someone else mentioned it for a task light, so I ordered one and so far, I have to say this little thing is great.PROS:- The 3 articulating legs allow you to position this light in lots of different ways, from standing it like a mini-tripod mounted light, to wrapping the legs around a tree branch, door handle, over the back of a chair or seat etc. In addition, the ends of the legs are magnetic (magnets sealed in a hard rubber, or is it a soft plastic?). The magnets are strong enough to allow the light to cling upside down to a steel surface, or even sideways on a vertical surface.- Uses 3 AA batteries. Convenient and easy to find everywhere. I use Eneloop XX's in it for the low self discharge so it'll always be ready to go when I need it, even if it's been sitting unused for a bit, plus the higher capacity for continuous use.- Puts out a good amount of light. The light has 3 settings which are scrolled through by the single Power/Mode button. The light cycles from Off, to Low (claimed 12 lumens for 80hrs), Med (claimed 55 lumens for 50 hours), High (claimed 125 lumens for 20 hours), Strobe, Red and Red Strobe, then back to Off with each consecutive button press. It can also memorize the last used mode by holding the button down to turn it Off. If you just click the button anytime the light is On, it will cycle to the next mode. From whatever mode it's currently in, if you press and hold the button for a few seconds (~2-3 seconds), the light turns Off immediately, and the next time it's turned On, it will turn on straight to the last used mode (even if it was a Strobe mode). The body doesn't really get warm at all even when left in High Mode.- Beam. I would describe this as a floody beam. Unlike the standard GT (Gorillatorch) which uses a reflector, the GT Flare uses a lens/collimator. With a reflector, you generally get a very bright but narrower hotspot plus a much wider but dimmer spillbeam surrounding the hotspot. Depending on the reflector and light source, this could lead to a 'ringy' beam where shining the beam on a wall will show varying rings of light and dark for an uneven beam. Lights like the Joby GT Flare that use a lens on the other hand, tend to produce a beam that is far more even. There is no real hotspot and/or spillbeam. It's just one bright (depending on the brightness setting) circle of light with a defined edge. The beam DOES have artifacts due to the lens, where the edge tends to exhibit some rainbow coloring, but the majority of the beam produces even, cool white light. Placed so the face of the light is 12" away from the wall, it produces a circle about 10.5" in diameter (21" circle from 24" away etc.). The even beam makes it a great task light as you can select your preferred brightness setting and everything in the circle of light is evenly lit, as opposed to most reflector based lights that will illuminate whatever is in the center hotspot much brighter than the things in the spillbeam.- Price. Comparatively speaking, this isn't a very expensive light at all, coupled with the flexibility (literally and figuratively), it's one heckuva light.CONS:- It's not waterproof. It might be able to stand up to a light drizzle, but it won't be able to take any sort of dunking, and I'd put a plastic bag over the body of it if I had to use it outside in heavy rain (to change a tire in the rain at night for example).I'll update the review after some runtime tests to see if the runtimes are anywhere near the manufacturer's claims.***Update 11/30Well surprise, surprise, the runtimes aren't anywhere near as good as the manufacturer's claims. Still somewhat decent I suppose. Using Eneloop XX batteries that all measured in the 2350mAh range off a Maha C-9000 charger, I get about half the manufacturer's runtime claims on the High and Medium brightness modes. (Claimed 20 hours on High, measured ~12 hours progressively dimming. Claimed 55 hours on Medium, measured ~25 hours).Deducted 1-star for exaggerated runtime claims. Overall though, still a very versatile light.

Would not buy again
This light has an excellent design for shining light while working as an automotive technician. The problem is the plastic legs are cheap junk that breaks after using it for only 1 day. All three of the legs on my light broke in multiple points, and I barely even used this light, and I was very careful with it. I inspected all the legs and each joint had a small crack in it and the light was now useless. I would never buy this light again, and I would not recommend it to a friend.

Great light, until it breaks.
This flashlight worked great, but didn't last long. After a year or light use, the switch malfunctioned and it's now completely inoperable. I used it on camping trips and as a reading light and it's incredibly versatile. One the upside, it puts out a solid 125 lumens of light and has great battery life. I just wish the build quality was better.

Quality torch.
I bought about 8 of these to give as part of a present to my groomsmen and I got one for myself just to make sure it was a good product. I can say that I'm quite satisfied with the purchase. This is definitely a handy flashlight to have around either in the car or home or wherever. The white LED has several brightness settings and the red light is great to use for emergency situations. Or you can just use it around the house like i do when i have to get some minor plumbing work done in a dark spot and you don't have an extra set of hands to hold the light for you. It also comes in helpful if you have to change a tire in the dark you can either set the light up on the ground or just attach to the car with the magnetic feet. It's still on its first set of batteries after about 10 months of light use.

Good portable light/torch
The magnet of this gorilla torch is really strong which enables me to stick it on a metallic shelving I have on my desk at an angle. Due to the nature of its flexible legs, it's easy to adjust the angle and the direction of the beam. The light emitted however is not too bright. Good side of it is that the light isn't glaring and the white color does not hurt the eyes. It serves well shortly after sunset when it's not pitch dark and a little illumination is needed by the area.

Very useful
These are very handy, the magnetic feet stick really well. The legs wrap around things and hold tight. Very bright light, the battery life is ok. The kids pretty much wont let me have it back anymore.
