Other wool ironing pads I've had give off a strange smell - like the wool wasn't fully cleaned before the felting. This one DOES NOT SMELL! It's the perfect size for my art studio and I use it weekly to iron small patches and quilt binding on top of a little desk. I appreciate the silicone mat for my iron, but I don't use that as much as the pad itself. It's also easy to clean; I take a sticky roller and roll it off if it has lose threads, small pieces of fabric. Even after I spray my fabric with water and take a hot iron to the fabric... no smell! Love it! It's also great for kids to use because it can be set on the kitchen table or on a lower surface (my ironing board is too high for a kid to reach). A+ product.

Quality pressing mat. Thick. Just the right size to live next to my machine on my sewing table with my mini iron, ready to press seams for my small sewing projects & quilting.

Definitely allows for ironing, but I have already had 2 burn marks and did not have the iron on the fabric very long at all. I will say I also think it sheds a little. It is thick material though and does it's job!

This mat is SO nice!! And the size is perfect for my sewing projects. It's super dense and thick, so it protects the surface I'm ironing on. It does have a weird smell but it's not horrible. Imo you cannot beat the quality at this very low price point!
