Almost useless on upholstery, awkward design makes it difficult to use on floors, stairs, rugs.
I have a long haired cat and it is nearly impossible to stay ahead of the constant accumulation of pet hair in our house. We don't have carpeting, just wood floors with a few throw rugs, so the dust and cat hair really show. I had high hopes for this dusting brush but I'm afraid I'm very disappointed.First of all, the upholstery. As with virtually every other pet hair vacuum attachment I've used, the brush basically redeposits cat hair back onto the upholstery unless you use it so painstakingly that you might as well not bother with a special pet hair attachment. The rubber protrusions in the center just don't do a lot in terms of gripping pet hair, and the bristles are so soft that they, too, just can't dig deep enough to grip the pet hair, and what they do pick up ends up back on the chair or sofa.Next, the floor, stairs, etc. While the fine, soft bristles flopped on the upholstery, I hoped that they would do a better job of collecting cat hair and dust from my wood floors and corners of the stairs than the rougher, thicker bristles of my other attachments that sort of "rake" the surfaces but leave a lot behind. And maybe they would-- except the awkward angle of the brush makes it very difficult to use. It supposedly "swivels," but what that means is that you can manually turn it side to side. I don't want to have to pick it up off the floor and adjust its angle for every area I vacuum. What I hoped it would do was to swivel on its own to adapt to the contours of the surface I was vacuuming, such as corners, etc. It does not do that. It also does not swivel front to back; that is, you can't position the brush perpendicular to the vacuum hose so that it lays flat on the floor, and so it remains very awkwardly positioned for use on the floor or rugs. I can't imagine that this would do much on carpeting.I used this with my Dirt Devil vac; with the adapter it fit fine. But it's a moot point because I won't be using it again.

Limited Compatibility & Usefulness
My house is always fighting against a horde of French Bulldog hair that drifts across our hardwood floors like tumbleweeds through Tombstone, AZ. So I usually take up any offer to test products that make the battle against doghair easier. The HomeSource Pet Dust Whiz is unfortunately not one of the standout products that I've tested.First, fitment is not universal even with the adapter. This dusting brush doesn't fit on my Miele upright or canister vacs and it also didn't fit on a newer Hoover upright. I was able to test this adapter with a much older Hoover that I have laying around.Second, as far as making life easier in terms of picking up pet hair this tool only gets a "so-so" rating from me. There are simply better options out there for cleaning large areas of hardwood floors and surfaces. The Pet Dust Whiz is okay for small tight spaces where you might not otherwise fit a larger vacuum.I was also hoping this brush would be suitable for getting pet hair off of furniture and it's not really suited at all for that purpose. Again, better options are out there.

good concept but doesn't fit....
this attachment does not fit both my Hoover nor my Meile vacuum but it does fit my small and compact dirt devil. It works adequately for hard wood floors, but I think it would work even better if there was an extra row or two of brush. It cleans very effectively in that area between the floor and baseboard, but does not work very well on high pile carpeting. I wish this product came with a larger adapter piece to fit my full sized vacuum cleaners.

Fits my Rubbermaid Backpack Vacuum Cleaner (6 quart size)
The vacuum cleaner I'm using is the Rubbermaid Commercial Backpack Vacuum Cleaner, 6-quart size. This Pet Dust Whiz Dusting Brush and adapter fit fine. Actually, I sometimes have difficulty getting a solid fit even with the accessories that came with this vacuum, but I like it so well I put up with inconveniences. I needed a brush shaped like this Dusting Brush because the accessories that came with this backpack vacuum were limited. But together these work well. Off topic in a way, but if you're considering one of the Rubbermaid Backpack vacuum cleaners, be forewarned that the 6 quart is plenty heavy. I'm glad I didn't get the much bigger 10 quart version. But back to the brush accessory, it does well.

Does not fit most vacuum cleaners. Measure before purchasing.
This product says it fits most vacuum cleaners. I have a Meile and a Dyson and it does not fit either of them. So make sure this is going to fit your vacuum before purchasing it. Seems to be well made, but I can't review it since I can't try it out so this review isn't very helpful.

True helpful brush attachment to clean hair and dust
This dusting brush is truly helpful to clean hair and dust, everywhere, from furniture to walls. And I’m very glad to report that it fits my Eureka 2271 (Boss Power Upright) hose, which is the vacuum I use to dust around the living room where is more necessary to do so every day. It comes with an adapter that helped in the fitting process, and even if the brush itself is larger than most brushes, it’s lightweight too. So, I cleaned all the furniture and some walls in the first floor of my house, and my hands didn’t get tired.

Fur those of us with pets
As pet owners constantly battling shed fur, this is a must-have accessory for our vacuum cleaner. This attachment fits with most manufacturers and models. (We have a Hoover.) The fit is not tight, but it's secure enough to create suction. There isn't a LOT of suction, though, so you have to re-vacuum to pick up loose pet dust. The design allows you to get under furniture and into corners. We also have a lot of peripheral dust because we live on a busy residential street in Chicago, and there's a freight line that runs past the back of our house. This will get a lot of use.
