Let the Sun Shine In
Went to see a performance of Hair at a local theater this summer and wanted to refresh my memory before going. This book is ideal to do that. It was all I wanted and much, much more. Arrived quickly and in great condition.

Good morning starshine
Those of us of a certain age can remember just how shocking Hair was when it first appeared; and now it's a cultural icon. This book presents, with pictures and story all aspects of the story of Hair - its' birth, the cast, some copies of call sheets and scripts. The layout is very simple. It almost looks like a child's book in its straightforwardness.Behind the scenes happenings are recounted, all in a style that does not gloss over some of the problems of the cast. The wonder of the hippie phenomenon and the condemnation of it, including two Apollo 13 astronauts that walked out of a performance are all told. The world wide progress of the play is included as well as the continued input of ideas. Supporters, the writers and idea makers, the criticism, the effects of the play are all well described - yet there seems to be more pictures than text. For those that remember Hair or want to know more about it, even many of the lyrics are presented, this is truly a brilliant collection. Little in the Hair story seems to have been held back - as Hair ages...this is its story.
