Best Bang for the Buck High Performance tire
I did not purchase this from Amazon but I will once it is back in stock as I need another set for my rear tires. But a review is warranted in this case. Car: Pontiac G8 GT with 435 rwhp/tq. Previous tires: Potenza RE050A 245/45R18 Review: The previous tires I had on the G8 was perfect for stock hp, it has enough grip to get me going, but I could still burn them if I wanted. When I upgraded though it was my limiting factor. The previous tires I was about to get a 1.9X 60 foot with a best time of 12.5@115. I was also able to smoke them when doing a 45 mph roll. With the NT05 I had a hard time losing traction once it started moving. I was able to almost flat foot off the drag strip pulling a best of a high 1.7X 60 foot and a 12.1-12.2 @ 117-118 mph. When I put on my 3.27 gears (stock is 2.92) I got a best of 1.73 60 foot and 11.83@121 mph with these tires. For comparison, I raced another G8 with similar mods and hp and he was using a drag pack (skinny tires up front, wider tires in the back) and true drag tires and he got a 1.65 60 foot with 11.80@122 mph. The front tires was nittos 555 245/45R18 Pros: High grip, long tire life for a sticky tire (12k miles, 15+ passes, several burnouts before both tires had a nail in it) Cons: The tire is stiffer than the pontenzas and are slightly louder and you also feel the road. It also has a tendency to pick up everything off the road as both tires picked up nails, several rocks, glass shards (thankfully it didn't go past the groove) But the pros easily out weigh the cons.
