Might cost more than the tin ones but it is well made and very sturdy.Bought the larger size which is not overly large.Great for keeping outside and the lid stops the smell.Would recommend this item.

My mother needed an ashtray that fit on top of the radiator, next to her front door. This is the perfect size.Due to her arthritis, she struggled to put her cigarettes through the hole in the top of the ashtray BUT the ashtray is designed in such a way that the top part can be removed and the lid still fits the bottom section. Thus eliminating those nasty smells from the house. I should probably mention here that my mother always puts out her cigarettes on the outside step, not with the ashtray, so I cannot attest to that function of the ashtray.Obviously being metal it does get hot when the radiator is on. But this is a small price to pay for the right sized item. Also, even when the ashtray was heated the smell was barely noticeable (as a non smoker I could usually smell it straight away, when she used a different ashtray).Overall I'm very pleased with this item as it ticked all of our requirements.

As the title suggests, this is a great little ashtray. I bought it for use in the car, as my car manufacturer ripped out all ashtrays from 2014 onwards. It fits perfectly in a standard cup holder and is steady as a rock due to the metal construction.Due to the hole being so small and the supplied lid, it does self extinguish butts which makes it quite handy instead of faffing about trying to stub it out while driving, and the lid will cut off any remaining oxygen to help out with this. This also reduces how much waste is thrown from the car window (the main reason I bought this).The ONLY remark and gripe I have with this, is that the lid is not air tight. I knew this purchasing it, and was hopeful it would still do what I needed it to do. BUT the smell of old butts can sometimes waft through the car. If you’re looking for something that creates no after smell, then this probably isn’t for you.That being said, I would recommend it for use in the car for the other reasons mentioned above.

So pleased I came across this ashtray after some considerable time scrolling through the many other examples for sale on Amazon.The description is spot on and I wasn't disappointed when it arrived.It is a quality made product and is used in the garden. It hides the cigarette butts until disposing them all in the bin... much better than a jam jar I'd used in the past.
